Really enjoyed this tour. Would highly recommend it to anyone who has not visited D.C. before. We used it to get a good feel for the D.C. area but it was so much more. If I had any complaint at all it would be that the boat ride was not very exciting after seeing all of the other things we had already seen prior to the boat ride. That said, the boat ride did give us a chance to cool off and rest just a bit.
If you only have limited time in Washington this is an excellent trip to consider. It covers all the main landmarks and monuments. Our guide Jorge was bright and knowledgeable. As it covers so much the day is a long one and you need to be relatively mobile. The only part of the day I felt was not as interesting was the cruise on the Potomac river.
I was so happy to see all of the memorials we went to, plus the tour of the capital building. It was great and thorough. Larry was a fabulous guide, walking through every place with us and sharing his knowledge.
A great tour that covered many of the key monuments in Washington, which was made highly successful by Jamal's enthusiasm, knowledge and ability to explain events succinctly, accurately and without any lame jokes. The Capitol Tour component was conducted by another tour guide who was too much the entertainer (lame jokes) and too little information about the building. Thanks Jamal!
Overall it was very informative, however the name VIP tour should not be there at all. No VIP access or even skip the lines. Lots of walking everywhere. I would say 3-5 miles at least. The boat was just a waste of time. I would not recommend this tour for this price. They pick you up in one place and drop you off at another. We got a Hotel from the pick up specially because of the tour. Just a waste of time.
The tour covered many features oc Washington DC. Nick was our guide. He was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. The boat trip was disappointing, not much to or be able to see. More time at another point of interest or for lunch would have been better
Nick, our guide was quite informed and gave us so much information on each site we visited. His humor was refreshing. It made all the walking bearable. Walking was intense & glad you did warn us ahead of time on the tour description.
