Tour started on time and we were transported to the various sites in an air condition coach. Be prepared for walking on the tour as many of the monuments requires getting off the coach and getting there by foot. Comfortable footwear recommended. The tour is a full six hours including a lunch stop of about 40 minutes.
The Guide kept a fairly brisk pace which was needed to fit in all the sites. This tour included a trip down the Potomac river which was very good as we were treated to an impromptu tour guide by one of the crew who provided great commentary whilst on the cruise. If doing this tour in winter bring something warm as it can get chilly up on the deck. I would recommend this tour if in DC.
it was a great way to spend a short stay, only one day, in our capital. the tour guide, Jamal was awesome and his knowledge of the area fantastic. have already told several friends that they should check this out.
The tour guide was very good, informative and helpful. Overall the tour took in the key sites. Unfortunately, as some of the travellers didn't stick to the stipulated return times, we didn't get very long at the Martin Luther King memorial, so it became very rushed. The guide tried hard to get people to co-operate and she was very polite and respectful in doing so.
I choose this particular tour because it was a good price and because it including all of the major places to sight see on ones first time visit to DC. It also included a very knowledgeable, friendly, and effective tour guide on a very comfortable bus with charging outlets, and bottled water to drink. This tour even included a bonus one hour long river boat tour/ride that was fabulous. It's advertisement told up front everything a visitor would see, and told whether you would pass by it on the bus or get out of the bus to experience it up close and for how long. Lastly, we stopped for lunch at a food court in a mall area right before the boat ride trip. This tour made my first time trip to Washington DC very memorable. Bring sun screen, and a shading hat. You can leave your items on the bus as you get out to explore.
We selected this tour because it included a boat ride on the Potomac River.
Our tour guide (Valerie) and bus driver were excellent.
However, I do have 2 complaints.
There was a young couple and their 2 year old child on our tour bus.
The child screamed and cried during the entire 6 hour tour.
It was difficult, if not impossible, to hear the tour guide, even though she was speaking into a microphone.
The boat ride was nice, however, you could not hear the narration over the loud speaker.
I asked the employees at the concession stand it the volume could be made louder, and was told it was at the maximum level.
My cousin had traveled from the west coast to join my family on this tour (she had never been to Washington DC). I felt bad for her, as she missed out on so much ... mostly due to the screaming child. I'm sure others on the bus shared my frustration.
This is a wonderful tour, however, there should be age restrictions for passengers.
Our tour guide, Joshua, was very knowledgeable and fun. The driver, Thomas, was very good and took routes to assure we saw all the sites. Cold bottle water was provided through the tour which was wonderful since it was a very hot day. Could not have asked for anything more.
