Museum of Sa Huynh Culture Tours

Museum of Sa Huynh Culture
Located in the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Museum of Sa Huynh Culture is home to more than 200 artifacts that date back some 2,000 years. The museum exhibits items used by the Sa Huynh civilization, which flourished in central and southern Vietnam between 1000 BC and AD 200.

The Basics

The Museum of Sa Huynh Culture displays traditional jewelry, terracotta urns, and giant burial jars that held the ashes of Sa Huynh people. On the second floor of the building, the Museum of the Revolution includes portraits of war heroes, as well as more modern objects such as grenade launchers and AK-47s.

The History of Sa Huynh Culture

According to historians and archaeologists, the Sa Huynh people were one of the first in southeast Asia to have contact with India and China, due to the seafront location of Hoi An. In recent years, excavations have unearthed fascinating artifacts of this lost culture, including jewelry, cooking utensils, and ceramics from thousands of years ago.
