The Basics

Its proximity to Seville makes Itálica a popular half-day excursion from the capital of Andalusia. Tours of the archaeological site take visitors through the ancient ruins—thermal baths, a gymnasium, spectacular mosaics, dwellings for the upper classes (called domus), and a Roman amphitheater—and offer insight into what life was like during ancient Roman rule in southern Spain.

The operator tour Naturanda was good, they arrive a little bit late, but Carlos was a great guide, and make the experience very interesting. The history in the place was great, they bring an small detail: tapa and orange wine, they were really good. The second place is the monastery, it’s less interesting than Italica history but it was fine.

Italica 2-Hour Private Guided Tour from Seville
Carmen was a fabulous guide. She was so knowledgeable about the history of Italica and Roman Empire history in general. We learned a lot from her and had so much fun. She was friendly and punctual and an all around delight. Definitely would recommend this tour!

Historical Italica: Half-Day Guided Tour from Seville
I decided to the trip as I had a spare half a day before leaving Sevilla. The trip was as described in the itinerary: we were picked up from a specified location, driven to Itálica, had a break for a drink and went to see the monastery nearby and taken back to Sevilla. The guide was knowledgable. The bonus was her sense of humour. I would recommend the trip.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and he was able to provide a tour to both Spanish speakers and English speakers by transitioning back and forth between Spanish and English.

Italica 2-Hour Private Guided Tour from Seville
The tour of Italica was interesting and Alex was informative. He was on time and obviously knew the history and layout of this Roman treasure. The weather was not ideal yet the two hours flew by as if was a more pleasant sunny day. Highly recommend Alex and Italica!!

Historical Italica: Half-Day Guided Tour from Seville
This tour as absolutely fabulous and our guide Montse really brought the history of Italica to life, she was excellent. We spent about two hours at the site, plus we had an additional visit to the incredible Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo, which was about five minutes drive away from Italica. I can't recommend this tour highly enough.

Italica Roman Ruins Tour
It's a well preserved archeological site, with many replicas of original artefacts originally found at the site and taken to the Seville. The guide explained very well the site, so you could feel the life of the ancient city. Very nice. The Colosseum is awesome.

Historical Italica: Half-Day Guided Tour from Seville
Even though it is not Pompei, Italica is a fascinating place to visit. The history of the town was well described by Estella our tour guide. The ruins, mosaics and especially the amphitheater were in sufficient condition to visualize the town at its glory days. The monestery we visited after the town wss also interesting and with many photo worthy sections. If you have time it is definitely worgh a visit

Historical Italica: Half-Day Guided Tour from Seville
Excellent trip. Efficient, professional and knowledgeable guides. Italica is one of the better Roman ruins I have visited and a great chance to see a little of Spain outside of Seville. The monestary is also very interesting with a lot of history and the guide was very knowledgeable and informative. I would certainly recommend this tour if you want to see something other than the sites of Seville.

Itálica and Game of Thrones

Episodes from both the seventh and eighth seasons of the Game of Thrones television series were filmed in and around the Roman ruins of Itálica, also known as the Pompeii of Spain. Most notably, the ancient Roman amphitheater was the setting of the Dragonpit, where several key characters held a summit in the finale of season seven.
