This 2.5 hour guided experience includes all surfing equipment, access to changing rooms and showers. Just bring swimming gear and a towel. Seamus is an expert surfer, a level 1 + 2 Irish Surfing instructor and qualified beach lifeguard. He has been surfing in Strandhill his whole life and is also keen to share his knowledge of and passion for the ancient history of Sligo.

Join your instructor and learn about how to use the tools, work with included materials, and create a piece to take home. After your creation is fired in the kiln, you can bring it home the next day, or have the piece shipped—it's up to you.

Our craft and design workshops cover lots of areas such as batik, felt making, tapestry weaving, printmaking and painting for kids. Imagine creating your own unique piece of art in what is truly one of the world’s most inspirational settings, complete with brooding bogs, ever-changing seascapes, majestic mountains and ancient silent lakes .The workshops are run by an established artist who has specialized in textile art for the past number of years. She holds a degree in design from Dublin Institute of Technology and is a qualified art teacher with several years of experience. She teaches a range of crafts with an emphasis on developing your design and creative skills.

Hit the waves and explore ancient, prehistoric landscapes on this 2-hour surf lesson and walking tour of Coolera Peninsula from Strandhill Village. Enjoy a morning surf with your guide and practise catching some of Ireland’s rolling waves. Then, following a warming coffee, embark on a guided walking tour on the Coolera Peninsula. Head out along Strandhill Beach and learn of the region’s rich heritage. During your hike, discover top local landmarks including Killaspugbrone, Walkers’ Lodge, Strandhill Cannon and Dolly's Cottage, a stone cottage dating back to the 18th century.
The half day workshop lasts about 3 hours, and we can arrange for this to start in the morning or afternoon. You will learn all that is required to make a small plate or wall hanging. Those who spend a few hours in the studio say they really get a feel for working with the medium of glass and a great sense of satisfaction from making something a little more challenging.
Lasting all day (10.00am - 5.00pm approx.) this workshop is a favourite of those seeking a full immersion into the craft of glass-fusing. Many who attend the 'Short' and Half-Day workshops re-book for this experience! The usual result of a full-day workshop is a large plate or wall hanging.
