This was probably my favorite experience in our week in the Amalfi Coast. Our guide Enzo was fantastic!! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the nature along the walk. It felt like we were walking along with not just a local, but also a friend. The lunch afterward was one of the highlights as well. Il Ritrovo had some of the best cuisine that we had all week! The service and atmosphere was fantastic! It definitely felt like we were treated in a special manner knowing that we were with Enzo. Bravissimo!!

One of the highlights of our trip to Italy!!!! Hiking the trails was tremendous and the views breathtaking!!! And our guide -- Gianluca Cartotrekking -- was absolutely THE BEST!!!! And the meal at the end of the hike was very good. Overall, a great experience -- I would recommend the experience to anyone! Note that the taxi ride to the starting point not included in the tour price was also and experience -- the views from the winding roads up the mountain were great!

I probably should not be rating this tour, since I never did go on it. The reason that I didn't was that Viator's Important Information tab on this particular tour says that there is hotel pick up and drop off. It turns out that this was not true in our case. I don't know where the miscommunication was, but two days before the hike, when I checked in with local tour company, we were told to take a bus. The tour company was nice enough and tried to coordinate by providing information and buying the bus transfers, but we were trying to avoid the hassle of buses since we had read that they can be off schedule and sometimes full. Furthermore, I would say that for an able-bodied reasonably fit family, no tour guide is really needed for this hike. We didn't see a single guide on our hike. Of course, a guide may always augment the trip in many ways besides simply navigating. Obviously, cannot comment on the eating portion of this tour, since we did not do this.

A note to Path of Gods newbies: if you are in Positano it is easier to take a bus to Nocelle and hike south and west from there to either to Agerola or Praiano. Some say Agerola to Positano is better because the views are better, and this is probably true, however, you can always look backwards and see the same thing. The reason to start in Nocelle is that you can have a nice 3 plus hour hike, and then ditch the main trail at the turn off for the church can't remember the name which is before Agerola. The path takes you by a nice old church, then continues to Praiano where you can catch the bus to Positano. The problem with continuing to Agerola is that the bus back to Positano is 1 to 1 1/2 hours. So if you want to slightly limit the length of the hike and overall excursion, do the Nocelle to Praiano hike. If you have time and want to see Agerola, then continue there. Just research bus schedules and get tix before you head off! The buses were pretty manageable after all given we were there at peak season and the insane roads that these large buses travel on.
