What To Expect

Meet your guide and small group of no more than 15 people in central Amsterdam in time for departure. Set out to explore the city’s historic Jewish Quarter on foot, stopping to admire landmarks such as the Jewish Historical Museum and the Portuguese Synagogue.

Along the way, learn more about Amsterdam’s troubled past, as you hear about the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands between 1940 and 1945, and the effects of the brutal regime not only on the Jewish community but on the everyday lives of all those living in Amsterdam. See the head office of the Jewish council and hear about key events such as the Winter of Hunger and the February Strike as you pass monuments like the Dokwerker and the Auschwitz Monument.

You’ll also learn more about the Dutch resistance and how they offered secret hiding places to families like the Franks. Your tour ends outside the Anne Frank House, where you’ll learn more about her now-legendary diaries and how they came to be published by her father Otto Frank. Entrance to the museum is not included, but you can opt to visit independently after the tour.

Kiran was an excellent...
Helena_H, Feb 2023
Kiran was an excellent tour guide, he told the stories of Amsterdam during the war with sincerity and in a way that was truly interesting at all stages! He engaged with all of the group. He had pictures and documents for reference throughout each part of the tour. It was an excellent way of getting to know the city and its history. Both me and my friend thought it was 3xcellent and we really enjoyed it! Highly recommended!! The tour finishes at the outside of Anne Frank's house (where the family were hiding) but it doesn't include entry, however this can be booked separately and the tour guide will accommodate if ypu have times booked and will try to get you there on time!
Fantastic

Amazing unexpected experience
Jeff_K, Jan 2023
I didn’t bother to read that the tour of the Jewish quarter ended at the Anne Frank house but did not include it. Also the instructions of meeting place was vague but we found the guide Manual. Turned out this was an amazing tour with an amazing guide and more than worth all of the effort. We learned so much about the history. Totally worthwhile
Interesting event

Seeing the Anne Frank House. Janet was a very good and informative guide. Shame it was so cold, could have done with a little break in the middle to grab a coffee.
Very good

My family and I throughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Peter was incredible. He had amazing knowledge and passion for the Holocaust and Anne Frank’s family and friends. I would suggest this fine tour, with Peter before touring Anne Frank’s House. It helps put everything in perspective.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Dear customer, Thanks so much for your positive feedback and good vibes. We’re looking forward to your next visit to Amsterdam! Hurry back!

My partner and I did the Anne Frank Guided Walking Tour through Amsterdam’s Jewish Quarter and it was brilliant. Despite the rain, we had a great time and learnt a lot. Our tour guide Ronald was excellent and had a great knowledge of Anne Frank, the Jewish Quarter and WWII. He was very friendly and able to answer any questions. We would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you have an interest in history.

Best walking tour I’ve ever been on.
john_W, Jan 2023
this was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on. The tour guide was informative, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about the time and history. I highly recommend this tour. There is a lot of walking, however, the guide makes it so interesting. You don’t even realize how far you’ve gone. I have recommended this to others and I would do it again.
Response from Host, Jan 2023

Every day is a school day - loved every minute
Debbie_G, Jan 2023
Peter was a very knowledgeable guide, we went at a good pace through the streets and he took time to answer questions so we ended up spending more time with him than the allocated guide time, fabulous value for money
Response from Host, Jan 2023

Walking Tour Anne Franks
liacoppock68, Jan 2023
Janet was very informative and passionate. However, for us it was just too long 2 hours. I know it says walking tour but such a shame it couldn’t include the museum too. The company were excellent in accommodating our chances. Highly recommend for any tours.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Dear customer, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us! We are sorry if you thought that our tour and the Anne Frank museum were two linked activities. We are two different companies, offering distinct services. Moreover, the information and details of the Tour (such as starting point and time, itinerary, inclusions, and exclusions) are clearly stated on the website where you booked it from. We hope to see you again soon in Amsterdam!

Depth of info shared was interesting to learn and understand in the context of the neighbourhood. It was extremely cold that day and guide was great at keeping us engaged.

Arthur was an amazing guide and told so many important stories. We all left feeling like we could visualize what it would have been like during this time period in Amsterdam

Tour is not at the actual Anne Frank house. It is a walking tour through Amsterdam. Would not recommend.

The most memorable moment of the whole tour was the huge memoriam, filled with over 102,000 bricks for the people who never got a grave! Amazing tour!! The tour guide was also amazing!!
