After greeting your guide in Cadiz port, you’ll climb aboard an air-conditioned coach and embark on a panoramic sightseeing tour of Cadiz. As you learn of the city’s 3,000-year-old history, you’ll pass landmarks such as Cádiz Cathedral, Plaza España and the ancient Castillo de Santa Catalina.

Continue your journey to Jerez — a city famed for its fine wines and impressive horses — to explore its abundance of historical monuments. On a guided walking tour, you’ll visit the 11th-century Moorish fortress, Alcazar, before settling down to watch a 1.5-hour show at Jerez’s prestigious equestrian school.

After marveling at choreographed routines performed by humans and horses, head to a local bodega to sample sherry, Jerez’s primary beverage. Take a tour of bounteous vineyards, learn of the sherry-making process and then pleasure your palate with samples of sherry and tapas.

Conclude your shore excursion with some relaxed free time in Jerez before making your own way back to Cadiz port.

In the rare event that there is no horse performance scheduled the day of your tour, you will instead learn about the traditional Andalucian horse training at a renowned equestrian school.

Worry-Free Shore Excursion:

We will ensure your timely return to the Cadiz port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. This Tour Operator Stood Us Up with This Pre-Paid Excursion and it's Totally Over-Priced (a Rip Off)!
, May 2019
This was 1 of the most expensive excursions of the trip. Yet we paid it thinking that the Tour Operator had been carefully screened by Viator, was trust worthy and was charging fairly. Their excuse for not showing up was that there was no Horse Show on the day we were there (Wednesday). However, they knew this because the shows at this Equestrian Center have been scheduled for Tuesdays & Thursdays ONLY for a very long time. They knew we could not go any other day because we were on a Cruise. They still took our money (over $200!). A Cab Driver took us to the same Equestrian Center (which was spectacular and worth seeing even without the show), for a tour of the city and a Spanish lunch at a lovely bay front restaurant (at our request). He only charged us $135 (round trip) and we paid $11 per person for admission to the Equestrian Center and the lunch (which we also treated him to). He saved the day!
