The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, also known as the Great Mosque and the Mezquita, is one of the most-visited sites in Spain, and it has the crowds to match. Skip the ticket line by booking in advance and then tour the historic structure with a knowledgeable guide. This trip also includes a tour of the Jewish Quarter.
Make your way to the central meeting point in Cordoba by 12:15 p.m. to begin your tour. Head to the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, one of the most-visited monuments in Spain, for your guided tour through the 8th century religious building.
Learn about the complex history of this site from your guide as you walk through its double arches, maqsura, and mihrab — you may recognize the signature striped arches.
Then, continue to the Jewish Quarter for a tour featuring the Synagogue, the Jewish Street, and Arabic Market, and a bronze statue of Maimonides.
Your tour ends back at the Mosque-Cathedral.
Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba
Skip the long lines to the 8th-century Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba and marvel at its forest of columns and double arches.
Unfortunately the your guide was polite, however, he was very hard to understand for an English speaking tour. Thank heavens we wore headphones. He went into to much philosophical information in Jewish center And Lost most of us, uninteresting. The Arabic market place was pathetic and the break time was minimal and uneventful location. All in all we would have been better off with the mosque tour tapa and wine.
The tour is so great we were especially amazed by the Mosque, no pictures prepare you for the real thing. Our guide for the Jewish quarter was fun and took us al around as we were the only . It was a hot day but the mosque was cool and serene. We saw all areas and it is a shame some of the changes that were done in the following years by other religions. Highly recommend this tour but do bring lots of water
The tour guide was excellent but the tour was a little rushed--not a lot, but a somewhat slower pace with even more time for explanation would help. The tour was in English only which is a big plus compared to many tours. Definitely the right way to see the Mosque and the Jewish Quarter unless you are really knowledgeable in advance.
