Meet your stand-up paddle boarding guide and your group of no more than eight on Helford Passage Beach at either 10am or 2pm. Boards and paddles are provided, while there's a dry bag for small valuables: wetsuits are recommended on all but the hottest summer days.
The tour starts with a quick on-shore briefing, introducing the equipment, giving a safety overview, and explaining how to stand-up paddleboard for those who haven't tried SUP before.
Within minutes you'll be on the water finding your feet on the smooth surface of the clear waters close to shore. Don't worry! You'll stay near the launch site until everyone has got the hang of standing, moving forward, and turning.
Keeping the pace right for the group as a whole, your guide will lead you along the rocky outcrop, backed by stunning Falmouth Bay, and paddle up-river to picturesque Helford village. Expect to see a myriad sea birds and, if you're lucky, a grey seal or even a dolphin. You'll visit secluded beaches and hidden quays, only accessible by boat, before returning to Helford Passage to test your new-found skills with some fun water games.
The tour finishes around 12pm or 4pm, depending on the time you've chosen. Feel free to enjoy the café and pub on the beach: beware the café's tasty cakes!
Please note: If you don't have your own wetsuit, these are available for a £5 charge. Please advise your size in advance. There is a small charge for parking at Helford Passage.
