Chianina and Chianti Experience: the Authentic Florentine Beef Steak with best red Tuscan Wine
Your Florentine dining experience begins when you meet your friendly, food-loving guide and take off for the town of San Gimignano, a UNESCO-listed heritage site and the home of some of Italy’s best beef. Explore the town and wander through its medieval city of towers before heading to a local farmhouse.
Upon arriving at the farm, meet a herd of Chianina cows and learn about the history of this animal, which has traditionally played an important role in Tuscan country life. Native to Valdichiana, these white bulls are bred in various areas throughout Tuscany today.
Next comes the best part of the tour: the feast. Sit down to a lovely 3-course meal, staring with an antipasti of mixed farm meets, bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil and 2 types of crostini. Noodles will come in the form of organic durum wheat pasta with seasonal vegetables and saffron, as well as homemade pasta in a Chianina meat sauce. The star of the meal is of course the grilled Florentine Chianina steaks, accompanied by a mixed salad, seasonal vegetables and cantuccini and vin santo. Wash it all down with rich Chianti wine and water, and finish with a nice cup of coffee.
