This Grand Canyon Railway adventure begins at the historic Williams Depot in Williams, Arizona. Before boarding the train, enjoy a Wild West shootout featuring the Cataract Creek Gang in an outdoor theater. Also, check out the gift shops and enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast (not included) at the Grand Depot Café before departure.

Then it’s all aboard. The Grand Canyon Railway has been transporting passengers on a journey to one of the seven natural wonders of the world since 1901. Experience white-gloved service with roaming musicians and sing-a-longs, plus an Old West train robbery.

Arrive at the historic Grand Canyon Depot, one of only three remaining log depots known to have been constructed in the United States. The landmark El Tovar Hotel, Hopi House gift shop and Bright Angel Lodge hotel complex greet guests as they arrive. Feel free to explore and join a narrated motor coach tour of Grand Canyon National Park that travels to the most scenic overlooks of the canyon, providing guests with the ultimate scenic experience.

Upgrade and include a hot buffet lunch at Maswik Lodge, nestled in a Ponderosa pine forest.

The tour ends with a return trip to Williams, Arizona.

We really enjoyed our day on the train and viewing Grand Canyon. We choose 1st class section because we wanted extra leg room, but the photos online which help describe the experience show a glass door seating area which is what I thought we were getting. Beware, 1st class doesn’t include this as it’s a special car section you would need to pay extra for in advance. However, the bus service to the sites and bus driver commentary was excellent. He explained when we got to certain sites we would have x amount of time and where to go. Also, the buffet he explained to us very good. Overall we had amazing trip and not driving our car into the park saved time from walking and made it more relaxing.

In our opinion, this is the best way to see the Grand Canyon. One gets an enjoyable train ride while being entertained both ways, a courtesy bus tour of the Canyon where we saw the canyon from three different locations. We purchased the lunch option and were driven to the restaurant for a buffet lunch. This was an all day event with little walking required and filled with, in addition to the wonderful sites of the Grand Canyon ( we spent around 4 hours at the canyon) enjoyable entertainment on the rail trip. It is well worth the money.

Great way to get to the Grand Canyon. Everyone was incredibly happy and did their best to make the ride fun. The bus tour was great also. I have done this twice and would highly recommend it.

We had Nicholas in Car A as our tourguide. What a great young personality! Very funny, very engaged with everyone in our car on both the trip to the park and the return trip. Nick is a true 'gem'. The only thing that became a little irritating was all the different 'players' coming through the car that worked for tips. Guitar player on the way there, banjo player on the way back, train robbers . . a little too much. I think it would be better if the company included these and pay them from into the price of the trip, rather than have them working for tips.
