Meet your guide and small group of no more than six in central Graz in the early afternoon, and set off on your 2-hour food walking tour. Old-world charm, handsome baroque and Renaissance architecture, and a vibrant food scene come together in Graz’ UNESCO-listed Old Town, especially around Hauptplatz, the medieval main square.
While you walk, your guide will share tales of Graz’ history and introduce you to its cuisine, giving you an interesting overview of, and insight, into the city. Learn how Graz’ gastronomy has evolved through the centuries, and how, as capital of Austria's Styria province, the menus here boast many regional specialities, such as Styrian beers, fruity wines and more.
Enjoy several food stops to try some local culinary favorites. Samples may vary, but dishes you might taste include hearty, cheese-filled käsekrainer sausages, baked or cured hams, and mouth-watering pastries, cakes or desserts like strudel. Along the way, you'll also taste some drinks beloved by people in these parts, like light and fresh Styrian wines, and crisp local beers — tapping into Graz’ long tradition of brewing.
After about two hours of tasting and talking, head back to the start point where your tour ends.
