Meet a driver at your hotel in La Romana, then make the 35-minute drive to the Punta Cana International Airport in a climate-controlled coach. Transfer to a turboprop plane for the flight to Samana, enjoying a birds-eye view of East Coast beaches and the Bay of Samana along the way.
Touch down on the Samana Peninsula, then head straight into the mountains to visit a traditional Dominican ranch, where you’ll see some of plants that thrive in this lush area, including coffee, cacao, and tropical fruits.
Next, climb on a horse for a short trail ride along the Arroyo Chico River, following a path through dense forest. You’ll emerge from the trees to find the Limon Waterfall, a picture-perfect 165-foot (50 meter) cascade in the heart of the jungle, ideal for cooling off in the fresh water.
Refuel with lunch at El Timón restaurant in Samaná, where you’ll have a hearty meal and domestic cocktails with views of the water. The afternoon is all about relaxation: board a boat to Cayo Levantado, and spend the rest of the day swimming, snorkeling, or simply soaking up the sun on the island’s gorgeous beaches.
In the afternoon, begin the return trip to the airport, and fly back to La Romana, where a driver will meet you for transfer to your hotel.
