Great trip. The crew was very professional and friendly always keeping safety first. We seen a lot of nice scenery but the real kicker was the Sea Lions...Awesome. Getting to swim with them was a thrill and so memorable. Also, nice to see other wildlife such as the penguins and other sea birds.
This trip was awesome! A must-do while in Lima. I was a little apprehensive because I'm a little scared of swimming in the ocean especially with very large sea lions swimming around me but after a few minutes I was fine. There was always someone in the water
with us in case we got into trouble. I couldn't believe how many sea lions there were and I also loved seeing the penguins!
The trip was to long and slow. The islands lost their appeal very quickly. We should have taken a faster boat to the sea lions. That part of the trip was great. The guide who was in the water with us was really helpful in getting me super close to the animals and getting some great video.
Swimming with sea lions was after hiking Machu Pichu the highlight of my trip...absolutely loved it. It was also my first ever swim in the pacific ocean so I decided to go big and swim with these amazing creatures. You get up close and really understand how amazing the sea lions are. The guides were great and the day was perfect weatherwise.. Loved it!
The service ran like clockwork. Hire car picked us up at our hotel and dropped us back. The boat got very close to the island and we had plenty of time to observe. The colony is quite large and permanent all year round, so you do not run the risk of there being no or few animals to observe. Even had motion sickness for all passengers, but I recommend taking your own as theirs made us incredibly drowsy.
