Visit Windsor Castle — one of Queen Elizabeth II’s official residences — with this independent, full-day experience, which includes an entrance ticket and round-trip transport from London. Travel in a comfortable, climate-controlled coach to the Royal Borough of Windsor, and then make the most of free time to explore the castle with an audio guide.
  • Explore Windsor Castle at your own pace with an audio guide
  • Walk through must-visit sites like St George’s Chapel and see the final resting place of King Henry VIII
  • See Queen Mary’s Dolls House and admire art by Rembrandt inside the State Apartments
  • Watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside the castle grounds
Begin with a pickup from Golden Tours Visitors Centre in central London, and then take in the beautiful English countryside as you drive west to Windsor, a postcard-perfect town best known as the home of Windsor Castle.

Head inside the stately castle — whose grounds stretch some 13 acres (5 hectares) — and make the most of around two hours of free time to explore independently. Plug into your included audio guide and learn about the castle’s history as you check off the royal residences most impressive highlights.

See Queen Mary’s Doll House, created by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyets; explore the lavishly decorated State Apartments; admire masterpieces by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci and other luminaries; and watch the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony (time permitting), which takes place daily.

When the time comes, meet your coach at the prearranged time and place, and travel back to London.

Good tour

It was a very good, well organized tour. This is a nice place to see. Viator is an advisable place to book.

Impressed with Castle grounds and interior rooms. Please display at entrance times when areas such as St. George's Chapel is closing for the day. I missed this part of tour by a few minutes - if I'd known ahead of time, I would have gone there first. Coach was timely and comfortable; driver (Will) was personable and knowledgeable.
Convenient package

Takes the hassle out of buying tickets and finding a way to Windsor from London. The return point was a long walk from Victoria Station so it could've been closer.
Nice Visit To Windsor Castle

The bus transported us safely and promptly to Windsor Castle. It is recommended to take the earlier transportation as we ran into rush hour traffic on the way back. However, was a great visit to the castle.

Lovely short bus ride from London to Windsor Castle. The castle was beautiful and the grounds were spectacular. The audio for the different rooms enhanced our enjoyment. The driver for our tour was very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately at the end of the tour we were dropped off at a different location than we were picked up and had to take the subway back to our hotel. Not pleasant.
Just Amazing

After seeing Windsor Castle it is clear why the Queen prefers to spend time here. The grounds, gardens and views are beautiful. We did a half day tour with a bus ride and I’d wished we’d had more time to lunch in Windsor and enjoy the small town. Do not miss this one!

This was a nice bus ride to Windsor Castle, great visit at the castle. Would not recommend the 1:30pm visit as you are stuck in rush hour on the way back into London. Other than that, nice tour!
Its not Viator's fault, it Windsor Castle's fault

Golden Tours, the operator of this tour, did a fine job in getting us to Windsor. Once there, however, things went downhill. We had a total of about three hours to tour. It was nearly thirty minutes getting from the bus to the entry point with the stragglers. Once there we stood in line for another 10-15 minutes waiting to be searched (TSA level!) We then moved toward the audio guide pickup point. Another 10 minute line. So we have nearly burned the first hour. The audio guide comes with absolutely no "guidance." You are standing there trying to figure out where to go. Well, St. George's Chapel is supposed to be amazing. Probably so but it was closed. How about Queen Mary's Doll House? Also closed. Well, that pretty much leaves the State Apartments. Oh, three of those rooms are only open during the summer months? So now we get to tour about 12 rooms. Absolutely NO photography! I have 100's of pictures from The Louvre, the The Palace of Versailles, from York Minster Cathedral. But none from the interior of Windsor Castle. Of course, what we saw was fabulous, over the top, but I can never look back through my photo album and relive it. If you can't remember it, its gone. And, with the speed you need to move when you are down to only two hours to tour and make it back to the bus, you just can't absorb it. It was a disappointment, one I will never bother with again. Last point; we departed from Victoria Coach Station but were returned and dropped off in Knightsbridge at Cromwell and Cromwell Cres, over 2 miles from our starting point. We dealt with it but it was kind of strange.

This tour does not give you time to see Windsor Castle. You only have 2 hours and walk to castle and security takes up 1/2 hour. Talk a longer tour if you really want to see the castle. It was a disappointment that Queen Mary’s doll house still has not reopened since the fire

Our drive out to Windsor Castle was very nice and not very long from London. The castle grounds were lovely as well as the surrounding village. Unfortunately St. George's Chapel was closed on the day of our visit as well as Queen Mary's Doll house. Our audio guide inside the state "apartments" was very informative. These rooms were not apartments as Americans would call them but rather formal state rooms for entertaining. I am glad I did visit overall.
