  • Full-day trip to Gibraltar from Malaga
  • Take in views from the famous Rock of Gibraltar
  • Enjoy a Gibraltar sightseeing tour and visit St Michael's Cave
  • Shop for British specialties on Main Street
Depart Malaga by air-conditioned coach and follow the coast to Gibraltar, the British territory that occupies a promontory jutting into the Mediterranean Sea.

Famous for its soaring limestone ridge known as the Rock of Gibraltar, this chunk of British territory is also known for its duty-free shopping and British-style sights, including traditional pubs and trademark red telephone boxes.

After a roughly 2-hour journey, arrive and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gibraltar’s main attractions. Snap photos of the port, glimpse the walled inner city, and visit St Michael’s Cave, a network of natural caverns in the cliffs. Admire the stalactites and stalagmites and marvel at the largest cavern, an incredible grotto that’s used for concert and cultural events.

Next, drive up the 1,400-foot (425-meter) rock as your guide talks about the age-old legends that surround it. The ancient Romans and Greeks considered it one of the two Pillars of Hercules that stood at the edge of the world.

At the summit, gaze out over the Spanish coast and toward Morocco across the Strait of Gibraltar. Meet the rock’s famous residents: the semi-wild Barbary macaque monkeys known locally as ‘Barbary apes.’ Take snaps of these cheeky animals, but keep a watch on your belongings as they’ve been known to snatch and run!

Descend the rock and enjoy free time to explore the center independently. Perhaps have lunch (own expense) at a pub, meander around the pretty lanes, or shop till you drop along the long, central avenue of Main Street.

Most of the stores are made up of high-street British names, as well as international fashion chains and craft shops. Browse for British specialties such as clothing; snap up traditional Gibraltar glassware; and perhaps pick up duty-free favorites such as liquor, watches and fragrances.

Afterward, relax on the coach ride back to Malaga where your tour ends at the start point.

A pleasant day walking through history

It was very pleasant day going to Gibraltar. I had always wanted to see the Rock. Such an historic piece of real estate. The only drawback was getting through customs coming and going
A day of sitting in a bus......

We left Malaga at 0720 spot on time. 2 hrs later we had everyone else picked up and on the way to the rock. 1 hour in the queue to enter the UK at 1230 (5 hours travel soo far) 1230 we get in another bus to have a 2 hour drive around Gibraltar. Had 20 min in St Michaels Cave but our guide bypassed the amazing North face as we arrived @ 1430 to the bus depo for lunch and free time in the old town. ...Back at Malaga @ 2230. Not an ideal day !! A tour should be about experiencing a place .... not in a bus with a guide telling us what we are missing. This is what happened on our day tour to Gibraltar.
Awful Day Out

If we had known that we would spend 8 hours on a bus and only 4 hours in GIbralter we would have taken a rain check on this trip. Tbe English speaking guide probably spoke for 30 minutes in total. What. Waste of money.
would so do it again!

Nice, fun and friendly people, offering lots of knowledge of the place's past and present. Never let you be bored. Very comfy bus, too. Unlike many others mentioned in their opinions, I didn't find getting there takin noticeably long time. On the contrary, the trip along the shore took just about an hour and was also quite insightful, on top of giving the opportunity to check out the beaches and sites along the shore. Definitely coming back. Wishing the Julia Travel keep up the good job! Thumbs up from the happy visitors from Canada! I could only wish they had more trips across beautiful Andalucia in their offer. I do recommend them, in case anyone still holding their final decision.

Spent longer time on bus than at Gibraltar

I really wish they would state that the tour bus would be picking up other people in other cities in the description. The first pick up was in Malaga but then we went to 6-7 other stops along Costa Del So before heading to Gibraltar. We spent 3 hours each way picking people up and dropping them off. We only spent a total of about 4 hours in Gibraltar: 2 hours for exploring the city and 2 hours to see the St. Michael's Caves, Macaques and the rock of Gibraltar. They also didn't take us to the top of the rock which I was also disappointed about. The tour guide didn't sound completely knowledgeable on the plan of when to meet up and where so we were confused half the time. Overall, don't recommend this tour at all.

Gibraltar excited me a lot. However, the tour was not very well organized. It was supposed to be an 11 hour tour, it turned out to be 8 hours, 5 of which were for picking up several people in different hotels (for like an hour) and then 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Gibraltar from Malaga. The tour guide had a mistake and made us go to the bus station for the tour, then mades us go back an hour and a half later. It was not enough time to enjoy Gibraltar. We didn't go to the best places there. It was mainly a shopping tour with a mediocre tour around the place.
Very nice and different

Convenient Gibraltar Day Trip

The hardest part for us was little specificity around the meeting location in the central plaza in Malaga. We didn't find a good contact email (didn't have cell service in Spain) and relied on locating the group waiting in an area of the plaza, but we were nervous we would not find the meeting point, so we allotted extra time for this. Many reviews negatively speak of the pickups along the way. This portion took only an hour and was right along the coast - it was beautiful to watch the sun rise as we headed towards Gibraltar. Passing across the border on the bus was quick and easy with passports. Once we arrived, we had about an hour and a half of free time to get food and explore the main street of the city. We went to Star Bar off the main road - nice small English place with clean bathrooms - highly recommend for brunch. After that, our package included a bus tour of the country. We did not get to go to the top of the rock, but we were able to see the lighthouse and Morocco in the distance, as well as the Cave of St. Michael and many, many monkeys! Going back across the border took longer (we walked across) but the bus had to go through customs. We had nice weather while we waited outside. We were back in Malaga by 6pm. Overall, good value for price and we were very okay paying for the convenience of the arranged travel - no stress on our part. Would go back for an extended stay if we return to get a more full experience.
Depends what you want!

I atttnded this trip as a solo traveller as just wanted a planned visit to Gibraltar to see the main sites. I don’t think this trip was for me. The coach was prompt and met us in Malaga at 0700 where it was expected to, the guide, Frank, was pleasant enough. Then we had an approx 3 hour coach journey where we were stopping and picking other people up, which I expected due to reading other reviews. The problem was we had a very limited time in Gibraltar, we arrived at 10 and was told if we had booked on the tour up the rock (which I had) we need to be at the coach for 1050 to go on this tour, giving time enough for the toilet, get a coffee etc, I managed to have a quick walk around town. You do not walk up the rock and you do not reach the top of the rock. You are escorted by a driver in a mini bus (who was pleasant and informative) and given a tour on the bus, only stopping at the lighthouse, the michaels caves (which I would not recommend, the caves at Nerja are a much better experience) you do see the monkeys however, then you drive back down stopping at one more view point before the descent. After the tour we had a couple of free hours to grab lunch/explore as we had to depart at 1445, so pretty much was in Gibraltar the amount of time it took to get there and back! If you like everything organised for you, you do not wish to explore and want a quick overview of the place then this is perfect, but if I should return I would make my own way, take the walk up the rock and take my time! Also, they take GBP as well as Euro but everything is marked in GBP!
