  • Great overview and orientation of the city
  • Interactive tour for all ages
Make your way to the historic zócolo, or main plaza, in the heart of Mexico City, where you’ll meet up with a guide and group for this 4-hour, interactive walking tour.

Mexico City can be sensory overload for kids, but this walk is designed to help them engage with the historic center. As they walk along the route, they’ll get to join in a story that weaves Aztec mythology into the landmarks around them, discovering a diverse mosaic of people and cultures. Participants will encounter people and projects that are transforming the city, take in Diego Rivera’s groundbreaking murals in the National Palace, and see the Capilla del Señor de La Humildad, a historic church in the heart of the city.

After four hours of fun exploring, storytelling, and imagination, this tour concludes back at the starting point in the zócolo.

Mezcal and Mixology Walking Tour in Mexico City | May 2017

Going to the Roma neighborhood to try different Mezcals and understand the process and how it's now "en vogue" was a treat! Such a great experience.

Mezcal and Mixology Walking Tour in Mexico City | Dec 2016

Great tour and our tour guide is a Mezcal connoisseur! She knew everything about the Mezcal and was very engaging which made the tour that much better. The spots that you go to for the tour are all over the city and are really great places which gives you a chance to see different neighborhoods of the city. Recommend this 150!

Xochimilco Boat Ride and Cultural Tour | Sep 2016

Excellent tour that combines socio-cultural depth, passion, curiosity and creativity. We walked around this amazing area and learned about how people have lived there historically, and how the community is dealing with economic, political and cultural changes that impact Mexico City today. We got to visit a working chinampa farm and learned about this ancient farming technique ,and then enjoyed a tranquil ride in a trajinera with some snacks. We even got to experience the trajinera lift that takes the boats from one canal to another! Heike is an engaging and personable guide who really cares about the communities she introduces to visitors. This experience is going to stay with me, and I look forward to more CDMX explorations with Hike a Hub on future visits.

Xochimilco Boat Ride and Cultural Tour | Jun 2016

Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the area. Taking the Metro and Tren Ligero to Xochimilco is very easy, from there it's a short cab ride to the barges. Once on board our guide explained the history of Xochimilco and how this was Mexico 500 years ago. Barges with mariachis, food and beverages pass by afterwards we went through the local market, on land.

Small-Group Markets Tour in Mexico City | Apr 2016

Great trip and guide. Highly recommended. It was just the Guide and our family 3 children so we were really treated to fantastic tour around the 3 markets and visited some areas to which we wouldn't have ventured on our first day in Mexico City. Great to get away from the main tourist sights and see a bit of colourful daily life. The trip was incredibly flexible and well organised .
