Traveler Tips

It's about a 30 minute walk up hill to get to the entrance of the castle so wear your hiking shoes!
Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes as there is a lot of walking even if you do take the bus up the mountain!
Have lunch first because you won't be able to later.

Our guide Monika is fluent in English, knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited and made good recommendations. Bus was also clean and comfortable. Good experience!

Well worth it!
Stepahnie_R, Mar 2023
Great experience! The staff is extremely kind and very knowledgeable! They answered all of our questions and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. We paid for the tour online and the castle entrance tickets with them while riding on the bus (we used our card and also purchased the basic package). I would highly recommend! Remember to be on time ALWAYS or they will definitely leave you behind as they are on a tight schedule! But you can hitch a ride with their colleague’s other tour bus if you do not make it on time. Anyways, 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️
Great trip to Neuschwanstein

We have a great day, especially with our guide Monika W, she gave us full review of the history background before we visited the castles. The scenery is stunning besides the castles. We enjoy the trip so much!

The ornate Linderhof interior was breathtaking. The Neuschwanstein castle was also beautiful. It was fun to walk up to the castle and the bridge to the viewpoint.

Really loved this experience, the castles were beautiful, the amount of time in each place was plenty and the cute little village stop was nice too! I just took my own lunch and walked to the castle but I did have plenty of time to spare to do that so depending how busy it is at the restaurant or what the service is like I feel like on that particular day there was plenty of time but if it was snowy like how it was when I went and like me your quite mesmerised by it you probably will want to skip lunch! Tour guide was lovely too and I learnt so much from her! Cant remember her name now but I went on the 1st March!

The tour guide Marcus was fantastic. Informative and entertaining. The bus driver was great. The timing of the tours was perfect. Not too long. Not too short

Picturesque visit to Neuschwanstein.
Wayne_B, Mar 2023
The coach trip was a wonderful way to see the German countryside and the unique castle Neuschwanstein? Visiting by coach was hassle free and the friendly informative guide made the trip a pleasure. We had snow on the ground which was very picturesque but meant the bridge at the castle was closed so we couldn’t take the perfect pictures that I would have liked from the rear where you get he best views. I would recommend using the coach but suggest the warmer months would be a better time to visit.
Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace Day Tour from Munich
alexandra_w, Mar 2023
My fiance and I went on this tour together and thoroughly enjoyed our time! The bus ride was very enjoyable as our guide gave us facts about both of the Castles and of Munich in general. She was very knowledgable! The only difficult part was the trek up to the Neuschwanstein Castle but we were given a heads up and there were multiple options to utilize. I would definitely recommend this to everyone, but those with small children. Hope to visit again soon!

The guide was nice , the bus was in a good location. Unfortunately the tour to Neuschwanstein Castle was a bit a disappointment because due restoration was possible to visit only few rooms. In less then 30 min the tour inside the castle was over and most of the time was spent to do stairs to reach the rooms.

Amazing tour

Neuschwanstein castle nestled in the mountains was picture perfect. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and shared the history of the castle which made this experience very special
Beautiful day near the Alps and visiting the castles!
WaiChiong_L, Feb 2023
It was a beautiful full-day trip, and perfect weather - mild and even sunny for a winter's day, yet we saw snow covered mountains and fields in the morning, including along the very scenic drive to the palace and castle. Our guide Hannah Yee for the non-premium full-bus tour was knowledgeable, detailed, patient and overall excellent! Definitely recommended.

Relaxing trip visiting castles
jenniferseivertolson, Feb 2023
This tour takes the stress out of a day trip to area castles. The bus is spacious and has ample leg room. The driver was skilled and provided a friendly welcome back after each stop. The guide provided information along the way and gave detailed instructions on times and meeting points. She walked us to the entrances and offered advice for the best viewings.

Organized & Thoughtful Day Trip
Priscilla_R, Feb 2023
We began our day trip on a double decker bus, which was quite comfortable. Our first stop was at Linderhof Palace - so beautiful! We had a few minutes to ourselves to stroll the grounds and visit the gift shop. Next, we had a short half hour stop in a charming town, Oberammergau, known for its woodworking and Passion Plays. Perfect amount of time to check out local shops. Next, we made our final stop at Neuschwanstein Castle. Here we had a couple of hours to grab lunch, shop and tour the castle. Our tour guide gave terrific recommendations for food, shops and how to manage our time. The Müeller Restaurant was quite lovely and we enjoyed the scenery. Next it was quite an uphill hike to reach the castle, with many stairs to follow (a little tough for my 77 year old mother), but our guide gave fair warning. The castle tour was a bit short, but it all honesty, we felt it was more than enough time to get a feel for the grounds. Overall, my mother, sister and I have a wonderful experience going through Bavaria, learning the history, enjoying the food and of course, the 2 castles.

Fabulous day

All parts were memorable including eating lunch sat outside at the Muller restaurant to the first sighting of Neuschwanstein castle. The opulence of Linderhof Palace and the sad story of the life of Ludwig Ii. The guide was so knowledgeable
Winter Castle Magic
Karen_L, Feb 2023
Wow! What an incredible tour. We had no idea all the fun, informative stops on this adventure. Our guide Hanahe not only took us to the beautiful Linderhof Palace and Neuschwanstein Castle but also a stop in Oberamergua and time for lunch as well and we were never rushed. Bavaria in winter with snow on the ground is breathtaking!. The value for the money of this tour is incredible and we would highly recommend it.
Such a treat to take a Viator tour

Definitely recommend the upgrade for this tour. Great transport and nibbles on the way. Monica our guide was wonderful and knew everything there was to know. Great way to see these locations.
great day!
Henry_C, Jan 2023
We had a great time in the tour with our guide Monkia! she was really friendly and gave clear instructions while also giving us fun facts during the bus ride to the different locations. the timing of the stops were great as we had enough time to look around and go into the castles. the lunch that was booked was also delicious (not included). was a great day and would recommend it!
A bit disappointed in actual castle tour
Ashley_B, Jan 2023
Monica was very informative and professional. The tour was very good. My only complaint was the castle tour. It is a beautiful castle, however, our tour guide never spoke. We had little devices to learn about the history. So it was an audio tour basically. We saw maybe 5-6 rooms and the tour itself was only 10 min long. They tell you 30 min because you walk so much in between the rooms. There are about 200 stairs to climb up. And getting to the castle was a long mile uphill. If it was nicer, the Mary bridge would be open for a shorter walk. But it snowed the entire day. It would definitely be nice to visit again when I can see another view of the castle and maybe a bit warmer. Overall not viators fault. But I would’ve liked to know. :/ enjoy!
