Family trip to Salsburg
Rebecca_F, Oct 2022
Such a wonderful trip! We went as a couple with our two children, a teenager and early 20s. Be sure to take the elevator to go up to the top of the castle to capture the best pics. You can climb it if you are in peak physical fitness. Our tour guide gave us such wonderful information about the area and history and even incorporated laughter. I highly recommend doing this day trip if you have time in your schedule.

A beautiful day In Salzburg
Neha_G, Oct 2022
The pick up spot is a short walk from HBF station. There are various buses lined up for tours in the same area. We were greeted by someone with an ipad asking which tour. He quickly found our tickets and QR codes that needed to be scanned. This is great in case you didn't dl them in advance. We boarded a large charter bus. Luckily they had a small bathroom on the bus. A tight fit for tall folks over 5'10, but nice to have. A tour hour journey goes by fast as Monika told us history about Salzburg. She was lovely! Driver Hans got us going on time. The day trip was quick but we saw a lot within the time we had. The city is small enough that you can find your way around. We spent a half day in the city center with freedom to roam until 1:30pm. From there we took the bus to the city of lakes where we had a little free time before getting on a boat cruise. The boat has indoor/outdoor seating and water was calm so it was good for those with motion sickness. After cruising for 30-45 minutes we docked on the other side where Hans was waiting for us on the bus. On the way back border control security came aboard the bus and checked passports before we entered back into Germany. Overall beautiful day and Monika was a great guide.
If you have limited time to see a neighboring country while in Munich
Hayley_R, Oct 2022
Salzburg is a beautiful city! However, this tour was not the best experience I've had with Viator. Trying to race around to see Salzburg in just under 2 hours was very stressful. If you want to see Sound of Music filming sites, I would recommend you take the tour specifically for that (via a separate tour operator). We only got to see 3 of the long list of filming spots and none of the Mozart Museum, even while eating lunch on the run (literally fast-walking while eating a traditional Bosna from the market to try to maximize our time). It was disappointing as I had high hopes for seeing more of the city, and for some reason, we used extra time stopping in Berchtesgaden on the way back to Munich, which was not very exciting. I wish we could have used that to extend Salzburg sight-seeing.
A Day in Salzburg
EFREN_R, Sept 2022
Monika our tour guide explained every details from the beginning until the end! From the bus and to the sites which gave us an idea of the history of Germany and Austria and most of the highlights of Sound of Music and Mozart’s birthplace! The boat tour on the Lake was breathtaking! Monika is one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had! Our driver was very efficient too!

Overall it was a lovely experience, a day well spent.
Gautam_P, Jul 2022
Really enjoyed the trip, right from the beginning till getting back to Munich. Our guide, Marcus and coach driver Smiley were really helpful in every possible way. The journey to Salzburg was very pleasant, driving through the beautiful Bavarian landscape while Marcus kept us informed on the history/significance of the different monuments, churches, castles, lakes etc. on the way, as well as inside the old town of Salzburg - I would also like to share my experience about having coffee and refreshments in Cafe Tomaselli - this is where Mozart used to spend his time too. Overall it was a lovely experience, a day well spent. Kind regards, Gautam

Great day

Manila and the tour were great. Austria is stunning. You do have to rush through but so so worth it and the boat ride is lovely.
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Thank you dear, but Manila? I think you mean Monika. She is as shinning as Manilla. Thank you for the review
Wonderful day out
Michael_D, Jul 2022
Where to begin? Probably with our tour guide, Paul. A very charming and amiable fellow, who made the day rock along with jollity and joie de vivre. Salzburg is a beautiful and compact city, and whilst the tour doesn’t really allow time for exploration in depth, there was enough to get a sense of a place with lots of history. It is very clean and full of life, and small enough to amble around. And then, for us anyway, the best part of what was a beautiful and very warm day - a chance to see Wolfgangsee and St Gilgen, and a boat trip across the lake. It is a long day, and you do spend a fair part of it onboard the coach, but well worth making the effort. Totally recommend!
Response from Host, Jul 2022
THank you Michael. I would love to give more time anywhere, but geography and velocity limits are a pain. But we do the best to see your smile. Come back soon
Horrible
Lisa_L, Jun 2022
Although you can’t control the traffic, If you know it’s the start of a vacation weekend, you should leave earlier instead of leaving people to sit on a bus for five and a half hours
Response from Host, Jun 2022
Dear Lisa, we cannot see in the future and not all experience we have can help to foresee if the border control have problems or not. Specially when an accident kills so many in a train, which lost it's rail. Our guides do the best to entertain you in our confortable busses and our drivers do the best with most modern traffic navigators, but yes sometimes things happen outside of our control. But I have an special ear for our guests and your feedback will be part of the new plans.
Best day ever!
Alyssa_M, May 2022
This was the most incredible day trip I have ever been on! Salzburg and the Lake District were absolutely incredible, and our tour guide Jackie was so kind and knowledgeable! I truly can’t imagine a better day, and I am so happy I booked this tour.

Beautiful daytrip
Jawad_M, May 2022
It was an amazing daytrip with a lot of beautiful sceneries. Salzburg is nice, and the lake district was amazing, especially the boat ride. The tour guide Jacklin was very knowledgeable and well organized. My only suggestion to make this tour more fantastic is to consider adding 1 extra hour time in Salzburg along with guided walking tour
Monica is superb, ...
Dolores_M, May 2022
Monica is superb, helpful and knowledgeable tour guide. We are elderly and she took time to accommodate us without compromising other members of the group! We enjoyed her tour.
The place is beautiful...
Jean_W, May 2022
The place is beautiful especial the boat ride, definitely worth the money. The bus provide by Gray Line is morden, with coffee machine, mircore wave, 2 sets of 4 seats table which you can play cards, and a big oval table with several seats around where you can have a small group party. It would be perfect if the tour guide would give us a guided tour in the old town!

Rude, guide who thought she was running in Olympics
susann_R, May 2022
Jackie was worst guide I ever encountered in 50 years of travel. She ran not walked didn’t care where her group was. She pointed out very few things and provided no tour value. A waste of time and money. Jackie needs to go back to guide school! Truly awful!
