A Waste of Time and Money -- Dishonesty Personified

We paid for a boat trip. That's the main reason we did this trip. If not for that, we would have chosen something else to do with our vacation time. It turns out that Viator allowed us to pay the extra money without knowing (or caring to know) that the boat company the local tour uses WAS CLOSED during our trip. Furthermore, there was NOTHING open when we went - shops and cafes were closed. Port Grimaud, especially, was a ghost town. Our driver even took pictures of the place to share with his manager to prove that nothing was open. This trip was not only expensive... it was a waste of a day. The whole thing felt extremely dishonest. We paid for a service and we paid for a fun day. Why would Viator even offer this tour at this time? And why would they let us pay extra for a boat trip that could not have possibly happened? It makes us question their business ethics. We were offered a 40 dollar discount after lodging a complaint. THAT DOES NOT EVEN COVER THE COST OF THE BOAT TOUR THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. The core price for the boat trip would have been 40 euros (10 euros per person for 4 people), according to Viator. Basic knowledge of exchange rates should indicate that we spent more than 40 dollars for the boat trip. As a travel company, they should know this. Also, according to our notes, we spent significantly more than 10 dollars per person, which probably helped offset overhead costs. Again, we are questioning Viator's basic business ethics (and competence) here. Viator... get it together. Be good to your customers. Because of you we wasted an entire day of our vacation and paid more than 500 dollars to do so. You should be ashamed.

Enjoyable day visiting beautiful St Tropez. Port Grimaud not so worthwhile. Be prepared for a good part of the trip to be spent driving to/from. Francis Xavier was excellent as our guide.

Traveling to St Tropez and the small port town of Grimaud was a fun day. St. Tropez was interesting but very touristy. We purchased paintings on the dock area there, probably overpaid but the memory is worth it. Had lunch in Port Grimaud on the canal and it was charming. I also recommend the short boat tour for the extra few bucks in St Tropez...see it from the bay....enjoy!!

Our tour guide was Coco, he was excellent, we could not have asked for a better tour guide. He even added something to the tour, which was a visit at a winery to have a wine tasting. It was a great day. It was my adult daughter and myself. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Viator, you need to add another category in terms of "what sort of visit was this:", as none of your options matched my situation.

If you’re in the Nice area for a few days and have a chance to take a day tour - definitely do this one! Well worth it and you see so many things. Highly recommend adding the boat tour so you see St. Tropez from another view. Trust me, it’s gorgeous.
