Choose any weekday for your cooking experience, and meet your chef-instructor in the charming fishing village of Mola, located just down the coast from Bari. Begin the day with a visit to the farmers’ market to pick up locally grown fruit and vegetables and chat with vendors. Equipped with fresh ingredients, head to the masseria (traditional Apulian farmhouse) for the morning cooking lesson.
Tie on an apron and join your instructor and fellow aspiring chefs in preparing a delicious lunch featuring homemade pasta, legumes, vegetables, taralli (traditional breadsticks), and cakes. Sit down to savor the home-cooked meal, and then enjoy some leisure time in afternoon to stroll or nap in the estate’s olive groves.
In the afternoon, walk to Mola’s fish market for the fresh catch of the day, just as residents have been doing for generations. The second cooking class is centered around succulent Apulian seafood dishes, which you'll help prepare back at the farmhouse and then enjoy for dinner.
At the end of a full and friendly day of cooking, say farewell to your hosts and new friends. Or, for an even more immersive experience, opt to stay overnight in one of the farmhouse guest rooms (additional expense, subject to availability).
