See the ruins of the Roman Forum come to life with a multimedia display of lights, sound, and holographic projections. After an after-hours walk around Caesar’s Forum, you’ll head into the ruins with your guide to hear stories of bygone millennia. Put on your special headset, and watch entranced as ruins are transformed and everyday life in Ancient Rome is played out before your eyes. The full experience lasts 2.5 hours.
Make your own way to Largo di Torre Argentina, a square in central Rome, to meet your guide at 7:45pm. When your group is together, you’ll start your tour at 8pm by heading inside Caesar’s Forum.
The forum closes to the public before you go inside, so you’ll enjoy a tour just with your small group of 15 people. See the supposed spot of Caesar’s assassination at Largo di Torre Argentina, then head to a little-known balcony that overlooks the Roman Forum. As you look down at the ruined monuments and temples, you’ll hear stories about the importance of each one.
Descend down into the ancient forum with your guide, and meet up with another group for the audio and multimedia tour. With your headset on, you’ll watch as the ruins are restored to their former glory, rebuilt before your eyes. See Roman bankers counting their money, and shadowy figures springing from walls to reenact Roman history. The sound and light show transforms the forum, bringing the days of Ancient Rome to life.
Return your headset at the end of the tour, and bid your guide goodbye. The experience ends near Piazza Venezia.
