  • Confirmation will be received within 48 hours of booking, subject to availability
  • Alcatraz departure time will be sent approximately 30 days before your Alcatraz departure
  • The tour package is two tours over two days. The Alcatraz tour will be on the date that you book, the bike tour will be on the day prior.
  • Credit card with ID (one per party) is required to be on file for a security deposit
  • Bike helmets are provided and recommended
  • Comfortable shoes and clothes, water and sunscreen are recommended; dress in layers as weather is likely to change quickly
  • Rates are the same for all people ages 5 years of age or older
  • The Alcatraz date cannot be adjusted after booking
  • For security purposes, a government-issued photo ID is required for all guests to board the Alcatraz ferry
  • Alcatraz audio tour is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Mandarin, Portuguese and Korean
  • Ferries to Alcatraz Island depart every 30 to 40 minutes from Pier 33
  • You may leave Alcatraz Island at any time; ferries depart every 30 to 40 minutes; the last departing ferry is usually 6:30pm
  • Alcatraz voucher and a valid photo ID for all travelers will be required to pick up your Alcatraz tickets at Pier 33

Poor cycling experience

Our group of 19 bikes was to big to be safe. I am an experienced cyclist and ended up at the back to help the stragglers I had to fix two chains on bikes and the guide was so far ahead he had no idea what was going on at the back of the pack we lost sight of him numerous times. It would have been a pleasant experience in a smaller group as the location and route were great but too many riders with vastly different abilities was not safe and caused for a very spread out group. All this after our guides opening remarks were how he prides himself on his safety. I expressed by concerns when we returned the bikes and they didn’t seem to care The Prison tour the next day was great and very enjoyable
