Depart from your San Salvador hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and admire the scenery as you venture to the verdant heart of the Apaneca-llamatepec mountain range. Marvel at the tangle of picturesque streets as you arrive in Apaneca and climb aboard your impressive dune buggy. 

Listen to an informative safety briefing then follow your guide through the luscious landscape to Laguna Verde, an inviting body of water whose surface reflects the gorgeous greenery that surrounds. Capture fantastic photographs of the natural wonder then climb back onto your buggy to drive to the next destination. 

Next, arrive at Laguna de las Ninfas (Lagoon of the Nymphs) and relish the sight of beautiful water lilies saturating its calm surface. Trace the visually stunning Ruta de las Flores (Flowers Route) and see an abundance of traditional coffee farms and stalls along your way.

i opted for the extened trip which was not worth it we did not get even 2 hours of buggy time, they just dragged out the day the buggies were very old / knackered and kept breaking down not an enjoyable experience certainly not worth the money

This tour was fun but what made it really great was our staff member Alfredo! Alfredo went above and beyond for us. We were comfortable with him. We did another tour with a different staff member but he was terrible compared to Alfredo!

Very fun trip. Only thing was that you don't get that much mud action. We actually laughed when the tour guide took us to this lake and did one circular turn in this small mud pit and that was it. Granted, we got plenty plenty dirty since my boyfriend didn't go through it fast enough so we got stuck, but that was the only part with mud that we went through. The tour guide was very nice. The tour was a couple hours long but there was really nothing super impressive that we did or saw. Also, they only give you one dune buggy per couple. Keep that in mind in case you travel with someone else and think you will have your ow dune buggy to drive.

On this tour, we drove ATVs, not dune buggies. Everyone was put in pairs. It would have been much more fun if everyone had their own vehicle. We were never told when we were halfway through the course so we could change positions. As a result, I only got 15 mins. It is truly boring to be in the passenger spot. As for the Ruta de las Flores, we took this tour 2 yrs ago and it was much better with Eduardo. During this trip, we were not taken to admire the murals. We went by 2 streets quickly and paused for a picture at the opening of a door mural. Our guide Irving was in a hurry. We didn't get lunch until 3pm. Apinaca and Ataco have fantastic artisan work but we didn't get to stop to admire/buy any.

My guide Irving was an absolutely amazing guide. He had incredibly in depth knowledge of everything we discussed and was able to answer all the questions I ask and I ask a lot of them. I had a great time and the flower route was gorgeous. No need to talk about the dune buggys, if you've ever driven one, you know they are fun.

We were unable to take the dune buggy tour because my husband sustained an injury in Costa Rica but we did view the cities on the Flowers tour. They are soooooo beautiful! Our guide, Eduardo was very informativie. Great tour!
