Day 1: St Petersburg
After pickup from your port, begin with a St Petersburg walking tour. See the major sites and historical attractions with a mini-walking tour around the city center, and enjoy plenty of photo opportunities.

Then visit St Isaac’s Cathedral with its colossal dome and peruse the local food market. Afterward, soak up some free time with lunch in one of the nearby cafes.

Then see the Hermitage Museum, one of the world's most prestigious museums, with over three million works of art. After a tour of the spectacular state and private rooms, you will be given free time to choose which areas you would like to explore.

Afterward, hop aboard your canal cruise. St. Petersburg is also called 'the Venice of the North,' and the tour includes a cruise along the River Neva and through picturesque canals.

Finish the day with a visit to the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. This church is covered in rich, colorful decoration both inside and out. Afterward, return to your ship.

Day 2: St Petersburg
After pickup from the port, start the day with a city tour to the south. See the major sites of the palace estates including statues, monuments, rivers and canals, beautiful bridges, cathedrals and palaces, memorial squares and parks. Then see Catherine Palace, admiring the stunning, 1000-foot facade. Your tour will visit all the major halls and private rooms, and a particular highlight is the Amber Room.

Enjoy free time in the delightful, small town of Pushkin. Dine (own expense), explore, take photos, shop or stroll its manicured parks. Then drive to Peterhof to visit Peterhof Fountain Park, built to rival Versailles in France. Peter the Great designed the 300-acre landscape, and you'll stroll through the lower park.

Return to St Petersburg and take the Metro – which is an attraction in itself – to find out why it is known as the magnificent 'palace of the people.'  Afterward, return to your ship.

This was a perfect 2-day visit to St. Petersburg! We were a single large family group 33 people 4 generations, and the tour operator was able to accommodate us in a full size tour bus.
Anna, our guide, was great! Very knowledgeable and she kept the tour interesting for all. Lots to see and do over two days and we got a good appreciation of the city and the culture. Hats off as well to Anna for keeping track of everyone in our group, including the little ones, and for keeping everything so well organised!
The visa-free shore excursion was one less thing to worry about for a large group, and the cost of the excursion was considerably cheaper than arranging something thru the cruise line. Very pleased that we booked thru Viator and glad that we picked this excursion.

Great tour hitting all of the highlights of St. Petersburg. Kate, our guide, was firm but gentle in keeping our group at a good pace through all of the sites we visited and counted our group at various times to make sure everyone was present. Our two lunch stops gave us a taste of Russian cuisine and as well some of their culture. You could see her pride in showing us her St. Petersburg and gave us some insight into the effects of history on the culture and thoughts of natives of St. Petersburg.

Had a lovely experience of our tour of St Petersburg with tour guide Elena and driver Dmitri. Elena was efficient, cheerful and very knowledgable. We were a small group of 14 on this tour and was given an excellent itinerary. St Petersburg was the highlight of our cruise thanks to Elenas expertise. She had everything planned to perfection. We didnt have to wait in any queues. We were provided with water. Entry to the museums, gardens, palaces were all included, and we also were given a boat ride as well as a metro trip. Glad to have booked with Viators. Thank you Elena

St. Petersburg is a city rich in culture and nothing better than a professional tour guide to make the most out of it.
This is a truly professional company and they care they followed up on our visa, promptly answered our telephone and addressed our concerns. We did not have a hitch passing trough customs.
Our guide was well informed answering all our questions about anything Russian history, art and a lot more, especially the best part of the tour, the Hermitage.
Our guide was very tolerant and we really appreciate her cool attitude and patience.
The bus dropped us at the right place and we did not have to walk much and picked us right on time.
Thank you Tickets and Tours

This was an exceptional tour with Anna. She is very knowledgable and keep us all on task with kindness and courtesy. Be sure to be timely on the first day as this really makes a difference in what you get to see and the time allotted. Comfortable shoes and the ability to walk easily are a must for your enjoyment. Also note that the company has to reserve group times in advance to secure these special tour activities. I saw all the highlights on my list and really enjoyed the local lunch that was included the first day. Anna and our driver Anatoli certainly made this a top notch excursion.

This was a fun tour. We saw all most of the major landmarks in St. Petersburg. The tour started with a subway ride. They have some really nice murals in the subway system. We went to Catherine the Great's palace, then to the gardens and fountains at Peterhof, which was amazing. We had an authentic Russian lunch at a local restaurant. On Day 2, we toured a beautiful church, St. Isaacs' cathedral, the Hermitage museum, the church of the spilled blood. There was a boat ride in there somewhere also. If you are looking for relaxation, this is not the tour for you. If you want to see all the sites, this will do it. The tour guide, Irena, was very friendly and knew everything about Russia and its history. If you happen to get her you are lucky.

Our experience with Jane was very, very good! We were a group of 12 in a very comfortable large Mercedes van. We used a single earpiece headset when out of the van and she used a handheld mic inside the van. Her enthusiasm and detailed explanations when showing us her city were appreciated she spoke very good english. We briefly saw all the sights, monuments and churches in St Petersburg with just the right amount of van, walking and boat time. We were provided a typical Russian lunch on the first day as part of the tour and on our own in a nice, clean restaurant the 2nd day.
My most memorable event was a 2 stop ride on the St Petersburg subway-don't miss this! Jane orchestrated it perfectly and that experience gave me more insight into the former Soviet Union than anything else with the beautiful decor of the era, the remaining USSR insignia, murals, statues, ect.
I highly recommend this tour, and I hope you're lucky enough to have Jane as your guide.

This tour was fantastic. So lucky with 2 days of sunshine. Our tour guide amazing. Her knowledge and English superb. Great value compared to the same tour on offer from our ship. A small group of 12 allowed us more time at sites and freedom not enjoyed by fellow ship passengers on bus tours with 50 people. St Petersburg an amazing City. No issue with visas getting off the ship. No doubt the small group the way togo. Personalized service the best. Thank you Viator.
