Overview

Un-shroud the mysteries of Turin with this history-packed 2.5 hour guided tour of the former Italian capital in northwest Italy. Delve into the rich history of Turin, known in Italian as Torino, as well as about the legendary Shroud. Stroll the city's cobblestone streets, linger in the spruced-up squares and take in the incredible architecture. Discover the façade of Palazzo Carignano and let your guide show you the courtyard, moreover you will visit its magnificently painted rooms on the ground floor.
  • 2.5-hour small-group walking tour of Turin with an expert guide
  • Admire Baroque, neoclassical and Art Nouveau architecture
  • See the cathedral that houses the Holy Shroud
  • View Piazza Castello, Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Carignano
  • Learn about the city from an informative guide
Head to Piazza Castello to meet up with your guide for this history-packed 2.5-hour tour of Turin. The first capital of Italy, Torino, as the Italians call it, is packed with palaces, churches and ornate centuries-old buildings. And after it hosted the Winter Olympics in 2006, the city is spruced up and more gleaming than ever. Home to Fiat, Juventus Football Club and the Holy Shroud, Turin is an exciting place to discover.
Let your guide take you around the compact city center, checking out the 16th-century Palazzo di Reale, home to the former Duke of Saxony. Learn about the history of the building and hear incredible historical anecdotes. If the group you're touring Turin with has more than six people, wear headphones so you can hear your guide better.
Stroll over to the Cathedral of John the Baptist, home of the famed Holy Shroud, the piece of cloth that supposedly had covered Jesus Christ in his tomb. On rare occasions the Shroud is displayed here. If it's not on display during your visit, head over to the Church of San Lorenzo where a copy is on display.
Walk over to 17th-century Palazzo Carignano, discovering the ground floor rooms where was born the first King of Italy and then, near the Art Nouveau-accented Mole Antonelliana, home of the National Museum of Cinema, the tour ends.

This was a really enjoyable tour. It was a great way to get acclimated to the city of Torino. Fulvia, our guide, was very knowledgeable and answered all questions that we had. She was very personable and pleasant, and kept things interesting. La Cappella della
Sindone was closed at the time we planned on going, so she had us meet her later in the day prior to another tour so that we did not miss it. We thought that was extremely nice of her to do and are very glad that we were able to see it! She also provided recommendations on the best gelaterie, chocolate shops, and restaurants. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Torino!

This walking tour was an excellent way to see many highlights of Turin and learn about the history of the city. Our guide Filovia may not have the correct spelling of her name was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the places we visited. She made the tour interesting and shared so much information with us. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was great! she was very informative and since we were only a group of 4 we had very personal attention. There was so much to see the tour could have easily been longer. Our guide was so helpful she even recommended places where locals eat when asked ... We tried one and it was GREAT! Great way to get oriented on the city. Do this tour when you first arrive!

We would highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide was Emanuela, she was excellent! The Bicerin which is local favorite, coffee, milk and chocolate at Baratti and Milano was delicious, this was included in the price of the tour. Emanuel suggested Cafe San Marco for lunch which was amazing. The decor was absolutely beautiful, very historic.
