After meeting your guide at Café Goldegg in central Vienna, head to the central train station to catch a train out into the Viennese countryside (not included: around 10 Euros per person). Soak up the scenery on the 30-minute journey, then arrive in Mödling, a historic town at the heart of the Vienna Woods.
After a short stop to explore the town, begin your hike and set out through the forest trails, hillside vineyards, and pretty villages of the Vienna Woods. Along the way, pass landmarks such as the gigantic Castle Liechtenstein, once owned by the founders of its namesake country; the 11th-century ruins of the Burgruine Mödling castle; and the Black Tower (Schwarzer Turm), perched atop the Calendar Mountains. As you continue through the woods, follow your guide to the ruins of a 200-year-old amphitheater, and stop for lunch or refreshments (own expense) at a traditional Austrian pub.
After around 4.5-hours of hiking, arrive at your final destination – the spa town of Baden, renowned for its Biedermeier-style architecture and historic baths. Enjoy some time to explore the historic town, before hopping back on the train to Vienna, where your tour ends at Vienna Central Station.
