What To Expect

Make your way to the centrally located meeting point. Meet your guide and a small group of 12 people or fewer and head down the famous Graben boulevard en route to a coffee shop that has been serving fine Viennese brews since 1685.

Once properly caffeinated, satisfy your sweet tooth at a famous pastry shop and chocolatier, and then head to the hotel that claims fame for inventing the Viennese dessert Sachertorte, a chocolate cake with a layer of apricot jam and chocolate icing: learn how the kitchen churns out 500 a day.

Continue to the two open-air markets of Naschmarkt and Brunnenmarkt, getting recommendations for the hottest local eateries along the way, and spend time browsing stalls of colorful produce, sweet treats, and homewares. Plus, visit a tiny restaurant near the market to try fresh produce, fish, spices, and cheese.

Finish your tour with a private coffee tasting in a popular coffeehouse in trendy Neubau, Vienna's seventh district, where you bid farewell to your guide.

Fun day of eating and exploring
Colleen_M, Jan 2023
We had an amazing time with Christoph on our walking food tour! He was very informative and made the day fun. We learned(and ate!) a lot! We enjoyed going to local places we would have not likely gone to on our own and enjoyed visiting multiple districts. Would highly recommend this tour-the food was delicious!
Experience traditional Viennese cuisine
Timothy_S, Jan 2023
This was one of the longer food tours I've done. We had maybe 5-6 different stops including breakfast and lunch. We did not need to eat again that day. The tour guide was friendly and pleasant. Many of the stops were traditional Viennese cafes or street food vendors. The tour guide used public transit (subway and tram) to move us around the city. There were a total of 12-15 people on the food tour, but there were 3-4 guides. So the tour was split into 3-4 smaller groups. Our tour was essentially a private tour. This was great - recommended.
Book it -You'll enjoy the experience!

Wolfy was great! We got to try a lot of local fare and he kept us moving at the perfect pace. I am still dreaming of the pork belly at the food market. We had 10 people in our group which was a perfect size.
A filling and memorable experience! Recommend!

A great tour! Maria took us to an authentic Viennese cafe, introduced us to Tomas, a fantastic street food auteur, and closed the tour by bringing us to a wonderful schnitzel place. And as a wintry treat we stopped and had gluhwein at a Christmas market.
Wonderful tour
Joel_B, Dec 2022
This was our favorite outing of our trip. Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable and funny. Would recommend to everyone.
Good food and a great experience.

Christopher was a great guide. He had a great sense of humor and very knowledgeable. The food was great too! One of our best tripadvisor tours.
Brilliant day
Pamela_H, Dec 2022
A truly brilliant day visiting areas and places we would never have found on our own with knowledgeable local guides who gave freely of their time
Great experience!!

Henrietta was a wonderful host! What a great food and cultural experience in Vienna. Highly recommend!
A wonderful experience, seeing a different aspect of this fantastic city, and getting fed too.
Jeremy_W, Dec 2022
We were booked into a highlights, food and drink small group tour. We met at 09:30 at the appointed place, and were expecting a group size of 12. However, they allocated 2 guides, and we ended up in a group of just the two of us, expertly shown round by Henriette, who , of course spoke perfect English (& french & german & spanish) and clearly loved the city where she lived and knew every aspect of it. We went first for a breakfast, then after a short walk, some coffee & snack, then a bit later (after a U-bahn ride and a short walk, Lunch. All included. then down to another district to a fantastic street food stall where there was a lovely owner who clearly loved the food stall he'd inherited from his father some 3o yaers before, producing fantastic sausages, goulash, etc. Then another u-bahn ride to (I think) &th District to a really nice non-touristy Xmas Market, which felt much more genuine than the others we'd visited. All the time, chatting to lovely Henriette about her city and lots of things. All food and dring was included, and we were told to get a transport 48hr pass just in case we ran into inspectors. The transport system is clean, fast, efficient, fairly cheap and works really well. This tour is highly recommended (but don't eat a big breakfast beforehand) and kept us occupied until 15:20. We now feel we've seen bits of this lovely city we wouldnt otherwise have, and it left us with a wish to return and see more. We felt especially lucky to be guided round by Henriette, who was knowledgable, enthusiastic and generally lovely. It was a bonus that the organisers were able separarte us from the larger group so we got a "private" tour for just the two of us. All in all, a fantastic experience, to be recommended. And, If youre lucky enough to get Henriette as your guide, (when she isn't doing her real job) it'll be even better.
Best of food markets
Patricia_S, Nov 2022
We’re able to visit many districts and visit the restaurants & food markets as a local. Our guide was very informative. A perfect way to spend a day in Vienna.
Great tasting experience
guylety, Nov 2022
Great tasting choices! Christoper was such a great guide. He worked hard to make sure that we had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend this excursion.
Best Food Tour!
Lauren_B, Nov 2022
Totally worth the price! Christoph was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable about the food, city, and history and absolutely hilarious. There is sooo much included when it comes to food and drinks so don’t worry about getting breakfast or lunch…or second lunch on your own because this tour includes it all! Street food was so good and such a cozy experience. Thomas makes the BEST gulasch! We ended the tour at Prater (a free amusement park), where there was a Christmas market, so after the tour ended we got to stay and ride the famously large ferris wheel. Also, you receive a follow up email almost immediately after the end of the tour with photos and a comprehensive list of recommendations for restaurants, cafes, and bars in the city. Only food tour I’ve been on that has done this and it was so helpful! Perfect for friends, family or couples. Totally recommend!
Excellent food tour
Krista_K, Nov 2022
The tour was fantastic! So much food and drinks. We were stuffed. And the tour provided insight to the local culture and cuisine. Our guide, Christoph was exceptional. We highly recommend this tour!
Terrific

Guide and tastings were amazing. Love the City, it’s people and food! The tour is much more than the food. Must see. A
Plenty of food, drinks and MERRY all around!
ShirleyL_A, Nov 2022
Firstly, a huge thank you to our host and group for waiting on us and meeting us where we got lost! But, most importantly, what an amazing historical cultural and culinary experience! If you are hesitating between vendors you won’t go wrong here. There will be plenty of drinks and merry through out! Also, we weren’t sure what to expect in terms of the tasting menu, but servings were very generous in every stop of our stops! The bonus part we made friends with folx we want to stay in touch with!
Fabulous Tour, A Must When Visiting Vienna!
Paul_R, Nov 2022
We took this tour on Saturday, November 19, and had an absolutely great time. Our tour guide was Christoph. He was fabulous. Very informative about Vienna and the food/drink of the city, as well as, very funny. We were also very lucky as the others in our group we did not know, but they also made the tour a really great time. We could not have asked for a better group to tour and eat/drink with and we could not have had a better tour guide than Christoph. Also, we expected the tour to last about 3-3.5 hours and it lasted almost 6 hours. The 6 hours went by so fast because of the great time we all had. Christoph and our group members, Thank You for such a great time.
Great Tour
Karen_G, Nov 2022
The food and drinks were a delight. Christopher was great and very informative. Was so glad we did this tour on the first day to familiarize ourselves with the city.

Ornella is a gem! She was incredible and took us to such varied locations throughout Vienna - we tried so many kinds of food from street food to traditional local favorites. We felt love me we really got the flavor of Vienna in a few hours. Don’t miss this tour! It’s amazing.
A well worth taking tour
