Exploring Myanmar’s biggest city is a must for visitors to the country, but finding your way through Yangon’s chaotic markets and fascinating religious sites can be overwhelming. Get a personal introduction to Yangon on a full-day tour with a private guide that includes pickup and drop-off, lunch, afternoon tea, and transport.
  • Private, full-day tour of Yangon
  • Customize to your interests
  • Lunch and afternoon tea included
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included
  • Led by a local guide
Begin with pickup at your Yangon hotel or at the Yangon airport, and plan the perfect day of sightseeing with a local guide. Head into the heart of downtown Yangon to see Sule Pagoda, a golden stupa that has been a rallying point in local politics, and is said to contain a strand of the Buddha’s hair.

Continue to Bogyoke Market, the biggest shopping center in the city, where you can browse for traditional handiwork, clothing, and food—your guide can offer tips on finding and bargaining for unique souvenirs. Pause for a traditional Burmese lunch in a local café, then continue to Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, whose enormous reclining Buddha statue stretches 213 feet (65 mt) from a gilded headpiece to red-painted feet. After visiting the temple, make your way to a nearby café for afternoon tea, an important tradition throughout Myanmar.

Spend the afternoon at the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in the country. Visible from around the city, the Shwedagon Padoga is covered with 11 tons of solid gold, and topped with thousands of diamond and rubies, and is an important pilgrimage place for local buddhists. After visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda, finish the day with return transfer to your hotel or the airport.

I would advise you not to book with this company. We were expecting confirmation that our tour was booked- we got confirmation from Viator but when we got to our hotel in Yangon we contacted Green Wood tourism to check that our tour was confirmed. They had no knowledge of the booking and we had to contact them 3 times before we got confirmation that our tour has been booked. Then on the day I got a lame text message saying that the driver that was supposed to come could not come and they were sending another car with a driver and the guide will be arriving at 10am. The tour was meant to start at 8AM we did not leave the hotel until 11AM - 3 hour delay! Then we had previously informed them that we are vegetarian, when we went for afternoon tea at 12PM we were there for 45 minutes. We were only taken to a couple of attractions, the English speaking guide was ok but we didn't get to spend long at each place and felt rushed. Then we were taken to a place for lunch at 2PM and were just told that the food is vegetarian with no explanation as to what is in there. We were just left to figure out what the food was and were still hungry at the end! All in all, a full day tour was meant to be from 8am and last 8 - 10 hours lasted only 5 hours and we ended up back at the hotel by 4pm. It was a very disappointing tour and was not worth the money. We are in the process of trying to get a refund.
