City tour was waste of a lot of time. L2 hours til got into the Parthenon then only 40 mins inside. 30 mins in Acropolis Museum. Not guides fault but overpromise and underdelivered.Peak season but no benefit to go on tour no skip the line!! Cape Sounian really worthwhile lovely coastal drive an hour at the site. . Great guide

The tour was good and covered all the points of interest that were in the brochure. The only issue was that the brochure was not clear that the Cape Souion part was a separate tour so in my opinion there was a time gap. In addition, the bus had to drop off all the people who were not part of the Cape Souion trip which left us going all over the town (almost an hour) to drop people off at the different hotels. The guides were knowledgeable and presented well.
So so disappointing!!

We were collected from our hotel at 07:40 and got to our first "sight" at 09:15 which I could have walked to from my hotel in 25mins. It was the fantastic Panathenaic Stadium and we got more information from the plaque outside than we did from the guide. We were off the bus for "a photo opportunity" and then back on the bus 2mins later!! We then travelled to The Acropolis and it took us so long to arrive there and get past the queues that we were only given 20mins free time up at the top which was pretty much the time needed to get down and return to the bus. Late morning we visited the Acropolis Museum which we rushed around stopping at a few statues here and there and we were given 25mins to explore more on our own. We were supposed to have approx an hour between our tours giving us time to have lunch, we were actually given only 15mins as we are asked to be ready 15mins before our pickup time. We started our 1hr 30mins trip down the coast on time and I thought this would have given the tour guide ample time to brief us on Greece and Athens information, but the guide thought that we would probably have been exhausted by the morning tour that they thought it better to give us time to sleep!! Once we got to Cape Sounion the tour was ok and we had sufficient time to enjoy it and the 1hr 30min trip back up the road was very similar to the trip down!! We have done a number of Viator tours and some of these being in large sprawling Cities with crazy traffic e.g. Rome but . . . This was by far the most expensive and the poorest. I understand that it isn't Viator that was providing the Tour, it was Chat Tours but something drastically needs to be looked at. We are looking at literally "Wonders of the World" and time needs to be given to appreciate these sights. Ideas I have are 1) make the tour a walking tour, as it would be much quicker to travel to the sights and therefore giving you longer when your there. 2) do the pickups in smaller vans and collecting less people enabling you to have more time and 3) ask the guides to share as much information at possible, especially when you are stuck on a bus for 3hrs. That being said, the tour guide in the morning was very knowledgeable but sprinted about from one area to another. Luckily we were able to keep up but there were plenty of others who couldn't and therefore got very little valuable information. I would really appreciate a response to my review.

Hello from Chat Tours , Thank you for comments . We have some concerns regarding your review . 1) We provide complimentary pick up and drop off from centrally located hotels in Athens. This service starts one hour prior to the check in time which is 08:30 am at the Amalia Hotel ( our bus terminal ) . When you confirm your booking , we always inform you that they are two options either to pick you up from your hotel's lobby early e.g 07:40 am in your case or to come directly at the Amalia Hotel our bus terminal at the check in time .Between 08:30 am to 08:45 am it is the procedure of deparutre. As your tour starts at 08:45 am your first stop is arranged to be at 09:10-09:15 am as you also mentioned . 2)The first stop is arranged at the Olympic stadium which is a short stop for photos after the commentary that guide gives you inside the bus . It is not a long-lasting visit . 3) Our team of guides consists of professional lisenced guides highly-rated at Trip Advisor as you could check . They focus on the cultural and historical interest of the tour by giving as much information as they can during your visits . The free time of course is shorter that the guided time . 4) On your way to Cape Sounion you receive information for the areas passed by as well as the highlight destination , the Temple of Poseidon. If there is traffic of course is not possible to give you information all the time .You suppose to have leisure time to this tour , too. 5) We would like to underline that you have booked a group organized tour, not a private one . The schedule is specific and clearly written at your vouchers . Your requests cannot be offered in a group organized tour. For all these reasons , we stronlgy believe that we offered our services as we have promised at your prepaid vouchers . We hope that you will choose an activity of your taste next time . Always at your disposal, Angelina Skyla.

Good way to see Athens and Cape Sounion. Guides are knowledgeable Groups are large and tour can be heard to hear especially because the guides alternate between French and English. Pick up for second half of trip was late and there was no communication. Not much to see in Cape Sounion and long drive but picturesque coast line

Hello from Chat Tours, Thank you for your review. In our official schedule there are a lot of bilingual departures during the week so you have participated in one of them. As far as the hundres of visitors at the sites is concerned, you could understand that this a common phenomenon around the world and we are thanking you for your understanding. Last but not least, Cape Sounion is located 63 kilometers out of the city of Athens but it worths the ride due to its breathtaking landscape and the significance of the third important temple of our region. We hope to see you again in our beautiful city . Always at your disposal, Angelina Skyla.

It's a lot of walking once you get to the destination so bring your walking shoes! The sights were amazing, the tour guides were average.

I'm in love --- with Athens

Joy was my tour guide and we had fun! The tour began on time and Joy was filled with knowledge about Athens and the history of Greece. We had to disembark and walk up to Acropolis because the streets were closed, due to a dignitary being in town. Joy made the walk fun, interesting and it felt like a high school field trip! After viewing Acropolis, we went to the museum and Joy's history lesson was impressive! I think the museum was my favorite activity that day because Joy shared so much knowledge that I did not know - and wouldn't have known but for a local sharing it. The trip to Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion was also a fun and learning experience (Joy wasn't the tour guide for that portion of the trip) but I had a great time their as well!
