An excellent and very interesting day trip to Bulgaria,The tour guide Rodica was very informative and had a lot of interesting information about both Romania and Bulgaria.I recommend anyone if they have time to go on this day trip.
I loved the tour guide She was very nice and so knowledgeable Her English was good and easy to understand I learned a lot of Rumanian and Bulgarian history She was really very well prepared The driver was good but it was a long day Loved the sightseeing We were picked up last so sat in the last row and it was very very rough riding Maybe should alternate the rows every so often
Veliko Tarnovo was spectacular. The tour guide was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the area and the other stops that we made. However, the tour guide wanted to discuss politics and his hopes of a return to the communist era just a little too much. His attitude was bordering on disrespect and contempt toward the American tourist that were present.
Rodica was our guide. She demonstrated interest in the wishes and comfort of the guests. At one point, it began to rain and we had left our gear in the tour van . Without asking, she showed up with several guests rain gear. We were at the top of a hill and this was not a small feat.
She kept us informed as to what was coming so we could prepare.
Rodica advised a place to eat that was perfect!!! It also had a charge station for electronics. I can’t say enough!!!!
Rodica was informative but gave us space. She is truly a professional. Full recommendation for her tour. Luciano the driver was excellent and safe.
A great way to see the Romanian and Bulgarian countryside. Daniel our guide was great and drove well. The UNESCO heritage site we visited was picturesque and interesting. It was a long day driving but worth it if you want a whistle stop tour of Bulgaria. Remember your passport!
There were two of us who went in a private car and trip involved a visit to a rock monastry in the small town of Basarbovo not far from the Romanina/Bulgarian border. We also visited the old capital of Bulgaria called Veliko Tarnovo. Our Romanian guide was very knowledgeable about the locations and eventhough we visited the city on a foggy day we were still able to see spectacular views of the city and the old citadel which made the trip worth it. I would recommend visiting in summer when the weather is clearer for the spectacular views.
A wonderful day in Bulgaria with a lot of driving but also many great experiences. We were lucky to have tour guide Roberto again who did a great job. Highlights were crossing the border over the Danube, and the fortress complex. Good value for money.
