This was a good overview as we drove through Lisbon and stopped at 2 or 3 locations for photos. The montastery is beautiful and the pastry in Belem was wonderful. Sintra was a cute city, but some recommendations for lunch would have been helpful. Pena Palace was beautiful. Our guide was knowledgeable, but very dry and came off rude. He wasn't very accommodating and didn't really seem to enjoy his work.
Thelma was our guide for 8 of us. She was young, VERY professional and knowledgeable, and had enthusiasm for her job as a guide to her beautiful city. Her language and commutation skills are excellent and her sense of humor set the tone for a comfortable full day of touring. It would take way too long to detail how great her tour was....but high points were: excellent driving skills and knowledge of less-traveled routes, access to the best views, historical sights, and historic shops and food offerings. This was a highlight of our 3-week tour to Europe. I'd recommend this tour, Viator and Thelma to anyone visiting Lisbon!
Thelma was a hoot...we had so much fun with this tour. She is a great guide with excellent knowledge and driving skills! We saw some great sites in Lisbon, and really enjoyed the morning with Belem, the tower and the pastries! Also, the green wine and cod cakes! However, the best part of the trip was the Pena Palace and Sintra....what a great town to walk around and enjoy and the palace was awesome! Do the walk around the outside of the palace if you are not afraid of heights!!! Highly recommend this tour !!!
This tour really was amazing, thanks in no small part to our guide Vlad. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the morning tour of Lisbon very enjoyable, especially the tastings! The afternoon tour to Sintra was great, a bit of uphill walking required but well worth it for the tour round the palace.
