Descripción general

En cualquier viaje a Marruecos, una excursión al desierto es una necesidad. Con este conveniente recorrido nocturno, viaje a través de las montañas del Atlas, haciendo paradas en la kasbah de Aït Benhaddou y la ciudad de Ouarzazate en el camino. En Zagora, camine en camello hasta un campamento en el desierto donde disfrutará de la cena, el té y la música tradicional, antes de acostarse por la noche.

This is an account of the trip the 1star is for the organisation excluding the driver who was likely just doing as instructed. Start: rang viator and gave address. Rang local guid and gave address 24hrs before. Told pre-7am start. Called both 7, 7:30, 8 and finally 9am collected. Rest of the group on minibus had set off and turned round twice and when asking guide got no info as limited English. We got on the bus eventually and set off. Unable to sit couple together not tours fault just a point Stopped at a few shops on the way for water and snacks. 8hr trip so leg stretches needed. First stop Ouarzazate pop 300k with film set. We get off a guide tells us in rush here 5minutes only then rush for sunset camel in Sahara. This was supposed to be a long stop but given the late start we all thought ok. The guide spoke for 5mins then ushered us into a restaurant. The most expensive. Left us there over an hour. People tried the food and some complained as not cooked, and resembled all inclusive style low quality food. This was the WORST meal any of the group had sampled in Morocco on there stops so far. The guide came in and people complained and the response don't tell me tell them I just guide maybe guide people to somewhere better is my advice and at 9-15 per head compared to better food at 1-3 everywhere else it just makes the tourists grumpy Left and carried on toward Zaragoza where the camel ride into the Sahara begins. We knew we are in a rush and get 1km from the camels. They stop and say yallah yallah toward a shop. Told get water and can leave bag in minibus whilst on camel ride and bag will be at the tent on arrival should of known to listen to head not advice. Waited for onward trip, arrive and put on camels as sun set. The suns behind you and you travel away from it so picture opportunity is limited won't complain about camels as they are an experience. It's 1.3hrs of which half in the dark so you can see the stars. The camps near a main road and a refinery which banged loudly 8pm-5am. Loud enough some people didn't sleep all night. The tents are in a stones / sand area or several 1-2m high dunes. The mountains surround you and we'd been told already the Sahara is beyond these so most felt short changed. Again not told much and sat on floor waiting for direction. Rang your guide asking for backpack and told on way. 7am next morning after 3 calls we'd given up and we'rent cold but weren't warm cat poo in the tent added to the experience - again it's nature and added to the humour. Take ear plugs and muffs if you want to sleep Day one scored 0 stars. was a serious of disorganisation and real tourist trap showmanship. Awoken by Berber guides for the sunrise. Enjoyed the sunrise and view of surrounding area realised we really weren't in the Sahara but a bit of me didn't care. Banging stopped and was nice taking pictures. 30minute camel ride on sunrise to main road. That's your 1 star. Left for small Berber village with castle attached. This is a nice view but the guide offended a tour member and then forced all to remain together as the restaurant is 10km away. Told the ride guide half would pay and go with him the rest wanted free time to go to the shop and look around. They got annoyed. Found the restaurant was 299m from the drop off so after explaining everyone was happy. Restaurant again the most expensive but 6/10 compared to the previous 1/10. Again found the smaller rustic cafes 3rd the price with very pleasant staff. It's a choice thing the tour tried to take away from you. Again if they'd explained we could of saved the confusion and there's binned to get rude, why would anyone come back or write a good review? Journey back to hotels organised and completed without issue. So the scenery saved them despite not being as advertised. The driver tried at all times and barrier was only that he had limited English which isn't his fault as such personally I don't believe he can be faulted. The contact is awful. He will state 5minutes for everything. He won't return calls.he will say stop calling? When you ask more than once things like whee are you? Or where's my backpack or confirm my address to me. Disorganised and unhelpful. I think there was consensus certainly in our 15 that the tour had bad organisation as we spent meals discussing it. I've travelled a lot and never felt such a lack of help/response. Even viator just stated here's your coupon ring the local guide. My phone bills at 31 due to their disorganisation and to add comical insult to injury everyone else paid 55-60. Viator topped this and still haven't responded to my email from the day prior to leaving when I raised serious concerns

Picture was not accurate, it's a completely different place. You will not see dunes over 2 meters high. There is a road a 5 minute walk from camp and a town nearby. A 10 hr drive in a minibus with no air con in 34C heat. With all that it was still an OK experience, somewhat disappointing.
