My mother and I were surprised the drive was more than three hours but visiting the UNESCO site was well worth it. Our driver Hussein stopped so we could have breakfast and for pictures in several locations. He maneuvered the sometimes treacherous roads with expertise and had us back by 6:30. He made sure our guide Ali was waiting for us. Ali shared great historical and cultural stories, knew everything from names of plants, to effects of climate change, to movies and shows filmed there. He told us not only about history but the benefits of being a UNESCO site. Then dropped us off at hotel for lunch, which honestly was the only disappointing part because of the touristy atmosphere and westernized small menu (like pizza). Then Hussein was waiting for us when we were ready to return. There was no rush but we were satisfied.
I will come back and bring my family because there are stories for everyone’s interests. Thank you Hussein and Ali!
Great tour!!! Worth it the long drive. If you really want to know more about the history and this culture this is a perfect way to do it. Visiting local houses, and many nice stops with great views. The van was impecable clean and comfort. And Mohamed our driver the most polite, kind and helpful. Really recommend it
We had an amazing experience with our professional tour guide Noor. He was punctual, extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He was also an excellent driver given the winding mountain roads. We were picked up at 7:30AM at our hotel and began our drive. There were several stops for pictures, as well as bathroom/coffee breaks. The lunch that is offered (additional cost) was about USD 10 and was very tasty. The kasbah (Ait Ben Haddou) has a beautiful view at the top, yet I would recommend a hat and sunscreen as it gets very hot during the time which you arrive at the kasbah.
Noor's knowledge and experience made our trip truly unique; we highly recommend him .
I would highly recommend this private tour to Ait Ben Haddou. The drive is the highlight of the trip, taking you through beautiful areas. The guides will stop frequently to point out vistas and small villages, but I would suggest taking Dramamine before the ride, as it is a very winding road! Our guide, Noor, was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and gave us lots of information.
This was an excellent tour. Our driver from Instyle Travel was punctual, attentive and took us through some beautiful mountain passes safely. The tour itself is a great way to see the High Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate. A good combination of scenery, history and architecture. We traveled on April 26th and the weather was very pleasant too.
Not suitable for elderly or someone who cannot walk well
, may 2019
1) The view is good
2) Comfortable vehicle
3) Suitable for traveler that have only 1 day for the Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou
1) Tour Guide in Ait Ben Haddou is not good. He walked too fast that did not find out some of the participants cannot follow. And one of my parent fall down as she trying too hard to catch the pace
2) Entry/Admission - Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou is not included ( Actually it is just 10-15 MAD per person, but they will not give you the change if you are not preparing some coins for this ) which is different from the content mentioned on web-site. The tour guide in Ait Ben Haddou will walk straight and pass through a gate in the bottom of Ait-Ben-Haddou. And you have to pay for the Admission so that you can go inside and chase the tour guide.
3. We choose the package without Lunch, but the driver will drop-off the participants to an expensive restaurant ( Around 120 - 150 MAD for a lunch ). Comparing the food in the city is relatively high.
