I was on 02Oct19 at 1430 cruise. It was the worst cruise ever. I don’t know a tour guide’s name because she never introduced herself. She was reading off of her cellphone. She wasn’t directing or pointing what she was explaining. She didn’t have any eye contact with customers. Most of all, she didn’t have any knowledge of what she was doing. I felt like I wasted my time and money. I don’t recommend this trip unless it’s done by a experienced, talented guide.

The cruise was wonderful. The guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and he presented the history of the canal both "historically" and "hysterically", interspersing historical facts with humorous comments. It made the tour very interesting and very entertaining. Couldn't have asked for a better combination. Many thanks.

Our guide Brennan was great and kept his audience entertained. However you cannot see very much from the water due to the foliage. The first 45min we enjoyed and there was a lot of information presented but because the boat turns around and takes the same route back, the latter half was quite boring and you could see people getting quite restless.

Canal is a nifty piece of engineering. The electric boat is silent and a smooth ride. The content of the tour was ok. Downsides? Difficult parking. Tour is not well marked. Loud and bad 70s music played on the boat when the tour is essentially done, halfway through the 90 minute ride. Difficult access for folks who are disabled due to lack of close parking. Finally the E-Ticketing. I booked through Trip Advisor. Never got confirmation from tour. Called company to check ticket status. The canal tour company does not answer their phone, accepts messages, but does not return calls. Booked again via Viator, again did not receive a confirmation. was assured by Viator that booking was confirmed. When we arrived at the tour the tour company initially would not allow us on the boat and had to be politely and firmly directed to look up the booking. This was all very annoying and time consuming. Best advice? Book at the boat. Avoid e ticketing as my experience indicates that the canal tour company does not have this one figured out.

The ride was of good length yet the account was loud at times. Information given with humour and helpful in nature. Healthier snacks would be appreciated.

They are running a very bad business and I have the worst travel experience to Ottawa because of booking this trip. Due to the weather (actually not that bad), they cancel the whole 4:30 trip. They did not inform Viator, and ask us to deal with Viator as they said Viator is the one holding our money. In short, I ended up make multiple calls to both companies in a week and spent more than two hours of long distance call. Now I got a confirmation about the refund, but I still have not seen the refund to my credit card.

Cruise was relaxing. Guide spoke well. Gave a lot of information. Crew was great and well mannered. Boat was clean and well kept.

On time - excellent guide - great weather. Very interesting tour of the Canal. Lots of information on the making of the Canal and the sites going down it.
