Hilda was our excellent tour guide. We loved her descriptions of the horse farm, greenhouse farms, crater, geyser and waterfall. She gave us many interesting facts about the plate tectonics in Thingvellor national park. She shared many cultural aspects about the nature, politics and religion of Iceland. We loved her enthusiasm.

There was a similar tour with a much larger group that was at a substantial savings. I am still waiting for Viator to reimburse me the difference in priving. The altinate tour was very good, but I prefer to travel in smaller groups.
What a great way to see the Golden Circle. Bus Travel Iceland run a very professional tour and although I almost missed my initial pickup, they made sure I got on the right bus. How delighted I was that I picked this premium tour. The bus was a very comfortable Mercedes minivan and wasn't full, so I was able to stretch out. It was equipped with A/C, which, believe it or not, was necessary on the hot May day I took the tour. Who knew Iceland got hot?
Our tour guide was Hilda (I think) and she was very informative and entertaining. We even got to meet her delightful daughter. The sights were magnificent, as I knew they would be and it was great at Gullfoss that you get dropped off at the top, walk down loads of steps to see the waterfall, and the bus is there to pick you up. If you came by car yourself, you would have to climb all those steep stairs back up to the top car park. A note to advise that the gift shop here is fantastic - has everything you might want to buy from Iceland, so make sure you purchase BEFORE going down the steps, as you don't get a chance afterwards.
We also stopped at Fridheimar, the Icelandic horse place, with a tomato hydroponic business next door. The horses were amazing and I learned some interesting facts about their five different gaits. Lunch was inside the greenhouse and you had a choice of any item, all made from tomatoes....including the beer. It was an amazing visit.
All in all, it was a tremendous day out.
We enjoyed our day with Hilda and learned a lot about the sights on the Golden Circle Tour. We also learned about Iceland, the language, and local customs. Hilda was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. We would recommend this tour to friends and family.
Tour guide's (Howser) knowledge of Icelandic history and geological information was out of this world. He was so passionate about what he does. Most amazing lunch experience at Fridheimar, a tomato green house. Bonus stops were much appreciated.
Choosing a small group tour was the best move. The cost was well worth the comfort and attention we received from our guide Fundar...?
We had a very orderly and responsible group so we moved to and from sites with no wasted time which gave us more opportunity to customize our stops. I was taking my 15 year old granddaughter to ICELAND and I chose this tour specifically because it did not go to lagoons as she was not interested in them but instead it stopped at an amazing volcano crater which was a real blast to walk around and such a fun experience...! The choice to stop at the Black Sand Beach prior to the horse and lunch stop was the best! It was hard to get her to leave. Then the expert horsewoman demonstrating the Icelandic Horse was such a delight my granddaughter who rides herself, could not get enough of ICELANDIC horses. I was so wrong about the Tomato House lunch stop... it was a great experience, warm and bright and so many tomatoes... sights and smells were invigorating...food was inexpensive and so tasty. Tomato Soup and the best home made breads ever. Imagine pasta and pizza made with tomatoes right off the vine! The drinks were imaginative and awesome too.
We enjoyed the Geyser although we almost missed it watching a smaller one spit and spout! Keep walking down the path! The tourist gift store was amazing -- high priced but beautiful items. Then up and around to the tectonic plates at the National Park ... and a great walk upslope but not hard through the crevasse. Beautiful sights at every step. And, rest rooms filled with light!
Our tour guide was a fun filled knowledgeable Icelander who made it obvious how he loved his country. We could not have wanted more he gave us options and more!
Really enjoyed this trip. Fantastic guide - Thora - managed to impart an absolute wealth of knowledge whilst driving. It was just what we wanted - a headful of stuff - cultural, historical, geological and a good dose of tails of trolls and elves. The stop off points were just the right length and she was very experienced and organised at making our visits efficient. It was super busy but think this is inevitable - particularly after the previous days' tours were cancelled due to bad weather. Really enjoyed the addition of the farm stop - just something a bit different. Also, unlike a lot of other things in Iceland - not a bad price either!
