Awesome!! Loved the information that Alexander shared about the city and Indiana Jones the driver was a great driver. We received wonderful attention to all our needs and experienced the best day in Puerto Plata City. We would definitely book another tour with Iguana Mama. We laughed, lunched, and learned. Alexander was very knowlegable about the vegetation and photography in the El Christo area. I even danced!!!!!

Alexander, Riley and our driver "Indiana Jones" made us feel comfortable from the start. Alexander was very knowledgeable with just the right amount of humor. We felt well taken care of the whole tour! Would definitely recommend!

Unfortunately the cruise ship owns the Amber Cove port, they don’t allow the other tour companies to enter the port terminal, which meant to had to walk quite a ways to get to where the tour bus are allowed to park and wait for the passengers. It is NOT the tour company’s fault, but they should disclose it, because we were traveling with an older lady which made it hard to get to.

Amazing tour!!! Definitely worth it! We had 2 of the best tour guides Alex and David who were very friendly and very knowledgeable on the history of Puerto Plata. They treated us like family, made us laugh and interacted with everyone. I wont lie when I first booked this tour, I contemplated whether we would've gotten bored since it was a 5 hr tour but I was soooo wrong... it was an awesome time, so good that I wasn't ready to leave when the tour was over. I told my husband that we need to make a trip to Puerto Plata again because it was such an fun place with amazing people. I booked this tour for myself, my husband and my 20 month year old son. We got into an air conditioned coach bus very comfortable seating, the guys gave us snacks, water, rum punch, straw hats, we went for lunch at a cafe in Puerto Plata which was pretty good too. Loved the cable car ride up the mountains, took some beautiful pics of the view and with the statue of Christ the Redeemer. We visited the Macorix House of Rum, the fort of San Felipe, rolled cigars, tried mamajuana and danced limo and bachata/ merengue.. even my 20 month old son had a good time!!! Definitely recommend!

Our tour guide Alexander was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about his country, the Dominican Republic. He provided information about its people and the culture. He also made the tour entertaining. We enjoyed the tram ride to the top of the Botanical Gardens El Telferico, they even had musicians playing live music and dancers at both the top and bottom of the tram. The rum factory was interesting, learning how the rum is made. We ate a traditional Dominican lunch and had time for a quick city tour. We also learned how cigars are rolled by hand and were able to roll one of our own. Finally, we learned the traditional Merengue dance. It was a great day and the perfect way to begin our cruise excursions it was our first port of call. I would highly recommend this tour and Iguana Mama tour operator to anyone traveling to Puerto Playa in the Dominican Republic. It was a great value and we were part of a small group only 6 people so we received personalized attention.

Really good tour and great value for money! We walked out of the port to meet our guide Alexander, Roberto and the driver Fernando. There were just 5 people on our tour so it felt very private and it's been a privilege to go around with this lovely guys. The tour was very informative, we went first to Puetro Plata teleferico and once on top have a nice walk around the gardens while Alex explained us all about the plants and trees of the area. We then went to visit a Rhum distillery and enjoy the tasting session! After that, as we were ahead of schedule, had an exclusive visit to a chocolate factory and then for lunch in a old colony house. Lunch was traditional Dominican and the place very peaceful. After lunch we headed to the Cigars factory, rolled our own cigars and have a little dance lesson. Highly recommended!
