Although this trip was interesting...

Although this trip was interesting, I was surprised to find that the local artisans seem to all make the same stuff. They should learn to differentiate their craft, they should sign their craft and they should provide shipping. I would have bought many pieces if I were able to easily ship right from the stores. It was interesting to see the potter making the pieces by hand. We had an American girl as a tourguide in training, along with our Chilian guide. I have to admit, that although she was very nice, I would be disappointed to get an US American as a guide who hasn't grown up there knowing and living the customs. Also, be careful about the day you take your trip because many of the stores where closed the day we went Tuesday.

I wanted to make the most of a short stopover in Santiago, and to see something of the countryside I decided on the trip to Pomaire and was delighted with the choice. Suzanne and Tessa both accompanied on the trip, so with two lovely ladies looking after me and very comfortable transport, a great day was guaranteed. They were very informative in response to my non stop questions as I was keen to learn as much as possible about Chile with a future return trip in mind. The traditional pottery cottage industry and craft in the village was very interesting and the village itself had a special character with a range of crafts for sale. I bought a lovely throw rug. Lunch offered the opportunity to try local cuisine and Suzanne and Tessa gave me a complete overview of local dishes to help me make a choice. A great day and thoroughly recommended. I'll be back ..............

Observatory Stargazing Tour from Santiago | mar 2020
Our driver Janine was very cheerful and a great guide and assisted our host at the observatory bringing tasty snacks and drinks. The experience was different than I pictured but extremely enjoyed. I had expected a facility on a mountain, where this was a collection of many different telescopes in a private residence. We were able to see solar flares thru a solar scope prior to sundown! Then viewed various stars as they first appeared at twilight and more as it proceeded to darkness. Our host was very informative and energetic! We are very happy to have selected this tour!

Hilltop Stargazing in the Andes Mountains | mar 2020
Stargazing was very interesting and the snacks and wine delicious, however, we were disappointed that the event was not in the Andes Mountains, but in the private home of the astronomer. We thought we could have a view from the Andes Mountains down to Santiago. Overall, worth attending, but it should be made clear that this is still far away from the Andes.

Observatory Stargazing Tour from Santiago | feb 2020
When I first booked this trip I thought it was quite expensive. But it was worth every penny. Travel arrangements were spot on. Was surprised it was in someones back garden, but what a back garden! The host was welcoming on arrival and treated us like one of the family. Arrived in daylight so started off looking at solar flares which we had never seen before. Moved on to daylight stars before the sun finally set revealing an incredible array of stars and planets in the night sky. All viewed through a dazzling array of telescopes. Then the full moon appeared and, just WOW! All this was achieved with the help of our wonderful host, who took the time, effort and obvious joy to explain the heavens. The evening was just like a group of old friend getting together for wine and nibbles and incredible views. Thank you for making our last night in Santiago so unforgettable.

Observatory Stargazing Tour from Santiago | ago 2019
If you are going to be in Santiago, do this. Period. A once in a lifetime experience you will never forget. Even if you have no interest in stars or planets you will love it. You will meet an incredibly charming and entheusiastic host, who takes care of your every need, is ebuillent and effusive and full of joy and wonder. Really, just do it. It may seem expensive, but cheaper than disneyland, and moch more memorable.

Authentic horseback ride with Chilean Cowboys in the Andes close to Santiago! | mar 2018

A fantastic trip, geared more for the inexperienced rider I would say as its a gentle walk through the mountains. We have never ridden before other than donkeys on the beach but felt totally at ease on the horse following direction from our wonderful guide Lorraine. Would highly recommend this experience. Lorraine was extremely knowledgeable about the area which again added to the experience.

Authentic horseback ride with Chilean Cowboys in the Andes close to Santiago! | ene 2018

This was an excellent tour, Felipe was our guide and we were so luck to have a Private Tour. He was very attentive, funny and spoke great English. The horses were so gentle. We were a party of 4 my husband myself and our two adult children. We were all experienced riders so Felipe took us to parts of the mountain that made the ride fun and challenging. Juan was also in assistance to make sure we were all ok. We had a great fantastic time, it is so peaceful and the views of Santiago were amazing. Afterward Felipe prepared a wonderful picnic lunch for us with a nice bottle of wine. I would highly recommend this tour and Felipe our guide.

Authentic horseback ride with Chilean Cowboys in the Andes close to Santiago! | dic 2017

I highly recommend this tour. My wife and my daughters boyfriend had never been on a horse before. The guides made sure that they got gentle horses. All the horses are well behaved and easy to ride, The views were awesome, the guides never leave you alone and are always there to help you. This is not a follow the leader on a flat circle trail. This is up and down and around trail that never gets boring. We saw eagles and a condor flying high up. We liked it so much that on our next trip we want to try one of their overnight tours. Also at the end of the day there is a delicious lunch waiting for you with good Chilean wine to wash it down. I highly recommend this tour.

Authentic horseback ride with Chilean Cowboys in the Andes close to Santiago! | mar 2017

On March 5, 2017, we a group of four had scheduled our sunset horseback riding tour. We had a wonderful experience during our tour. The staff was very friendly and helpful, taking time to explain things that enhanced our tour. This tour especially perfect for people who have never been on a horse. The horses were well behaved and knew the trails wells. The sites were breathtaking and we were able to see a most beautiful sunset while riding in the foothills of the Andes.
I highly recommend this tour so you can experience the beauty of Chile and the Andes. Everything about this tour was spectacular. Thank you to our tour guide David for an excellent experience!

Fantastic day, very relaxing and a beautiful way to see the Andes. Tour guide brilliant and we had a fantastic Chilean lunch washed down with red wine. Neither of us had any experienced horse riding but had no issues going over the mountainous terrain as the horses were very well trained and the guide kept a close eye on us and coached us well on the way up.
