We had a wonderful time and did see more then we expected. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our meet up location was away from the cruise ship port, but we were able to find it easily with help from people on the street. I highly recommend Powercourt, if you visit Dublin. I wish we had more time at Wicklow. Nice local stop for lunch.
Incredible tour-Powerscourt was very interesting, the history of the mountains and connections to political as well as social issues in Ireland, ate at tiny town cafe called Poppies, the old abbey was so beautiful! Tour guide was great!
The only reason I took off one star is that I was a solo traveler and apparently the only available seat was on a bus that was otherwise full of international students on a field trip. It was awkward and because no one spoke English, I missed out on a lot of the history. I was not warned of this, I was just told to go on that bus instead of the other one. Fortunately, the kind bus driver took care of me and at lunch got me back on the original bus with adults which actually had room as two people had not shown up. The rest of the trip was quite pleasant. The only other minor drawback was the only place to really eat in the village I thought was a bit overpriced and the food was good, but not great. The over all tour, however, I thought was lovely. Powerscourt Estate is definitely worth seeing, Wicklow and the lake were breathtaking, and Glendalough was also interesting and the walk from there to the upper lake was quite scenic. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable, and I enjoyed hearing about the history.
Great tour with Johnny. I actually did this tour in March and again with same driver in May. In March due to snow part of the tour had to be shortened, road in Wicklow not drivable because of snow. This time we saw it all, great tour. Gardens at Powerscourt are beautiful, and well worth doing this tour to see beautiful scenery in Wicklow and at Glendolough walking around the lake on the trail.
We had a wonderful day in the Wicklow Mountains. Noel was a great tour guide and provided us with lots of interesting facts, information and even sang some folk songs and anthems for us. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to see the beautiful countryside and escape busy Dublin for a day
