If you have limited days in Austria, but would love to visit Hallstat, this is the tour to go to. Offers you convenient transportation and a few hours of free and easy time to explore Hallstat. In addition, the tour guide is very knowledgeable and insightful. Make sure you are punctual. No time for mine tour though.
We loved our experience and had a wonderful time. The pick up was right on time on a very comfortable and not crowded bus and our tour guide and driver were excellent! Very scenic drive and Halstatt was just amazing! We had about 2.5 hours in Halstatt which was just enough time to see the beautiful town and have a nice lunch and a beer while enjoying the scenery. Highly recommend! ~A
We treated this tour as a pure transportation service as the guide
will give commentary on coach and once
arrived free time all the way. If we had not gone up to skywalk I think the 2.5-hour stay at Hallstatt would be adequate. The skywalk was just soso but not exactly bad. The guide provided a slightly discounted ticket price for adults (14 instead of 16) but kid’s price was more expensive (8.5 instead of 8). We are a family of 3 (two adults and one kid) and he cut the 40 cents for me. However in fact the official ticket office has family tickets for 34 (we paid our guide 36). We knew about it but the guide said he didn’t have this. We still bought from him though even knowing this. So my suggestion is to consider offering family price too.
we Had a very nice comfortable bus with a good air conditioning system which was really necessary today. The trip to Hallstatt passed through some beautiful countryside, we also viewed spectacular lake scenery. The visit in Hallstatt was merely 2 hours and 15 minutes, could of used more time. Several alternatives were available for additional cost; funicular ride to the top of mountain, group boat ride or independent boat rental. We walked the town and had a nice lunch. Overall a good experience but could of used more time. One couple did not return at assigned time (plus 10 minutes) and were left behind.
An amazing day with panoramic vistas of snow topped mountains, beautiful pastures and flowing streams with a few waterfalls thrown in. Definitely take the furniculer to the mountaintop for the breathtaking view of Hallstadt and it's lake below. Ate some delicious lake trout right at the waters edge and then walked around the charming town.
