Overall the tour itself was interesting and enjoyable. What we disliked: The boat ride we didn’t expect to be a high speed trip, we could barely open our eyes due to wind and water spray. The coach was really dirty and old, the chairs were broken, and to a point it felt unsafe (not the driver, he was great). Being such a long journey, and an hour later back due to the horrendous Bangkok traffic as well, the coach journey really spoilt it.

This was a well organised trip and carefully timed so that we got the most out of it. We were taken to a Second World War cemetery and a museum to explain the background to the Bridge. We experienced the Bridge in three ways - sailing under it by motor launch, walking across and travelling over it appropriately by train. The trip was rounded off by a wonderful buffet lunch.

Trip is good, ride on Burma railway a real experience. War graves made you think of everyone who had died, so young. Felt museum visit was rushed we did not get to see it all!

As a solo traveler, this tour was just perfect

This could have been a very good tour, the guide was excellent but just not enough time given at each location. We got to the river Kwai bridge and were only given 20 mins as the train was arriving that we had to catch. How can you appreciate something like this in 20 mins, couldn’t even walk over it. The whole day just seemed rushed. Additional time is required. Train journey was excellent

Cool tour - had some of the best food during lunch.

Having left our hotel at 6.30 in the morning I really expected to spend a bit more time at the bridge we were there 10 to 15 minutes before we boarded the train, having paid the extra to guarantee a seat. The train then took us to the middle of nowhere, where we disembarked to eat at a pre arranged restaurant. Not sure how long the food had been sitting there waiting for us to arrive. We then had a very long coach journey back. Overall I am glad I went to see this and the war cemeteries, just think the day could be organised better especially considering the traffic in Bangkok. Maybe the sky train could be utilised to get people in and out of the centre as opposed to mini vans.

It's a good day out and the train ride is a must and good value as was the trip in the longboat - don't bother 'upgrading' for guaranteed seats on the train there were plenty available although it is only a few pounds each. Only drawback is the 3 hour plus bus trip each way from Bangkok.

Well worth doing.
