This was an amazing tour packed with a delicious variety of Polish food and drinks. A wonderful host and a great way to see the city. Ending with the vodka tasting was fab and put us all in good spirits ❤️
What a great trip! We tried a whole variety of foods and drinks which we would probably not have had an opportunity to try without undertaking this trip. We tried a selection of Polish cheeses, vodkas, pierogi in a selection of flavours, Polish soup, pickles, apple pie tea, papal cream cake, Polish bread, and possibly more! I really enjoyed all of it and as there were only three of us that day, and our guide Chris, it was very relaxed and felt like going out with friends rather than having a tour with complete strangers!
This tour was fun. It was a small group of 7 diverse but convivial visitors to Krakow, and its was informative and engaging. We each got one of the pretzel-like breads from a street vendor, then walked to the large outdoor market to sample Polish sausage, cheese dumplings and pickles. We went next to an awesome little place for potato soup, bread with lard, and pierogi, then to a tea room for Pope's Cake a cream cake that is popular in Poland and was a particular favorite with the late Pope John Paul II and coffee, and ended up at a store that sells flavored vodkas for shots, to end the afternoon/evening. By all means, skip lunch the day you take this tour and you probably won't want to have plans for dinner, either.
Damien was a wonderful guide, friendly and informative. There is a quite a bit of walking, mostly due to construction, but my 75 year old mother asked if he could walk slower, and he obliged. We never had to ask again, as he was respectful to her needs. Highlight for me was the market! 5 stars!
Dominic was our guide. We walked around town starting with a national bread snack, then to a local market for sausage, cheese and pickles' tasting from local suppliers. Next came a typical lunch of cheese, bread, pickles and meat paste, followed by soup, then 3 types of dumplings washed down with a berry compote drink. Off to the bakery next for tea and Pope cake. Lastly the vodka shop for a quick one of over 20 flavoured vodkas. The cherry one was 40!
Then 3 hours later you waddle off home! Great tour!
I booked this tour for my wife as she couldn't join us on our own tour, so this is her verdict.
