This is a very interesting tour. Our guide was Thurai and he was very professional, spoke English very well and had knowledge of a variety of topics. The reason that I book private tours like this is because I'm more interested in the people and what their lives are like than a historical site. Thurai was able to give us a day to remember, from the shrines, to the road side markets where the Orang Asli rainforest people sell their medicinal herbs, and what each herb is known for. He also showed us how they live today. The tour is long but well scheduled. There is time for lunch which Thurai had ordered ahead of time for us at a small Indian restaurant. The food was delicious and not as spicy as they eat. I was taken at how considerate everyone was for our comfort and the success of our day, but especially Thurai. It is a good idea to bring some things with you, such as some toilet paper and a small towel for your hands. Most places that Thurai chose for us to stop were western but it's just a good idea touring anywhere in Asia. And the trip back down the mountain is curvy so if you are prone to motion sickness you might want to bring something for that. Don't plan anything for that night as this is a long day, and there might be delays due to traffic getting back. We scheduled our trip for the first of November and although that is the start of the rainy season, this day and most days were beautiful. Also take this tour on a weekday. There will less traffic and crowds. Thank you Thurai for a memorable day!
