Por qué los viajeros eligen este tour
Este día en París es un buen acto de equilibrio de una visita guiada, un almuerzo en la Torre Eiffel y una visita independiente al Louvre.
I booked a tour through Viator and the operator was Golden Tours. My card was charged and a confirmation sent to me via email. When I arrived at the train station at 5am, the representative from Golden Tour had no record of me. She called the office and was told that Viator had been emailed that the tour was no longer available but they still charged me. She told me to contact them for a refund. Ridiculous but not her fault. Trying to salvage having gotten up early and taken a taxi to the station, I asked her if perhaps there was a no show, would I be able to join the tour. She said it would be possible and come back in 15 minutes. When I returned and asked her, she said so far everyone had arrived. As we are approaching departure time, I thought I would hang around. She then looked at her purse on the chair between the two of us, looked at me, and asked me to move away from her!! I just spent $500US on a one-day tour. I do NOT need to steal your purse. Completely unacceptable. Then when I call Viator they blame the provider Golden Tours. Either way, I never made the tour.
Taking the train to Paris is such a civilized way to travel. We had upgraded to standard premier and were in a separate car and served breakfast. The ride was pleasant and went quickly. Met Francoise in Paris and boarded the bus. Saw the highlights and then arrived at the Eiffel Tower. We had lunch at the tower. It was a set menu and it was served all at once. Server explained it's a picnic. Lunch was ok. Went to the Louvre where we had 2 hours on our own. On the way back to London we were served dinner to include wine. An enjoyable day all around.
It was awful(I am the travel agent who booked this on their behalf)~~~Viator totally messed up the booking. The date was changed(by client request). Viator issued the corrected proper voucher but when the client got to the rail station they were told that they didn't have a reservation. Even though they had the correct voucher with the corrected new date. They had to wander around Paris alone without the champagne lunch at the Eiffel Tower or getting to see the Louvre. It was to be the highlight of their vacation. What they got instead was rudeness, lack of caring or compassion, & left on their own. I was mortified when I got a phone call from my client from Paris telling me of her horrible experience. Her & her daughter were so upset & disappointed. I was in total shock that my clients were treated in this horrendous manor from Golden Tours// Viator.
This could have easily been a five star trip, except for: Everything about this trip was wonderful till we actually met up with our guide in Paris. I could have talked more about France and Paris than our guide and I had never been there before. Our bus driver was great, threading his way through traffic. However, we began our journey from the train station by inching along the front of an outdoor market that we were told was full of pickpockets and thieves. Then, we made a U turn to drive behind the same market and hear the same commentary. That took the first 45 minutes of our day in Paris. Then, mostly in silence, we traveled through one of the great cities of the world. The destinations - Eiffel Tower and the Louvre were wonderful! At the end of our time, our guide actually spent moments telling us about other cities he had visited as if to say they were all superior to Paris. Except for the guide, it was a wonderful day all, in all. I only give it a one because of the pitiful tour guide.
Fantastic tour!! Met early at train station, but a fairly easy check in. Getting off train in Paris we met our guide Monica. One word to describe her....outstanding!!!! Friendly, personable, and knowledgeable!! Conveyed history, advice and personal anecdotes into the tour. Sites were outstanding!!!
Our tour contact was 1/2 hour late to register us and we had to literally run to the train after clearing security, 4 people in our tour did not make the train. Our guide Michael was knowledgeable, friendly and did a great job of dealing with a very difficult situation. Great trip otherwise.
Michael was a wonderful guide but basically you really only see the city from inside a tour bus or on a hour long river cruise. We had lunch on the Eiffel Tower which meant we missed out on even the cruise. The time inside the Louvre is short allowing for just the highlights. It's worth it for the limited experience at the Tower and museum and to say I've been to Paris but it's really just a cursory tour.
Lunch is iffy, but otherwise highly recommended. I looked up the train prices, and it was a better deal to book with the tour. Despite the delay with the train itself, Michael knew how to make sure we can still make the most of the remaining time. With the lunch option, I felt like I should have picked the river cruise instead, but it wasn't bad. There wasn't enough time at the Louvre, but at least I got the highlights.
