This was on of my favorite tours ever. Remi picked us up very easily, and we were in a small group in a comfortable van. We went to a catherdral, a few other city sites, and the Notre-Dame de la Garda which was beautiful. We then went through the hills/mountains which I had no idea they had in France and went to a beautiful cliff top on our way to Cassis. Cassis was lovely where we had some awesome seafood. Our group decided to pay the extra amount for the boat ride, with Remi helped us set up. The boat ride was awesome and I highly recommend. It was a nice boat sailing past all the cliffs and amazing coastal views. This was a perfect day!
The Palanques National Park by Cassis has incredible views and walking the harbor front in Cassis with a delicious seafood lunch is a marvelous experience. Our guide, Nicholas, has superb English skills and is personable, knowledgeable and flexible.
Our guide Julian took us on a great tour, he has intensive knowlege on local history, culture and arts. VBeside the mentioned places, he also took us to hidden spot with great view. We would highly recommend you take this tour instead of the big bus group.
Very pretty drive through Marseille with stops at St. Vincent's Abbey and Notre Dame de Garde. Then on to Cassis with a stop above the village with a spectacular view. The only issue with this tour and it was not the tour operators fault, was that, in Cassis, which is a quaint little fishing village, there is not much to do other than take a boat trip to some lagoons, which we had very much wanted to do. Unfortunately the ticket booth was closed when we arrived and opened about an hour and a half before we were to leave. The line up for tickets, however, was very long and there was no way we could have made a trip and returned on time. Perhaps an option to purchase boat tickets prior to arriving could be offered. Overall, it was a very pleasant way to spend the day.
Picked up a little late from the ship and spotted Jeremy easily. He was very personable and gave great history and background on Marseille and Cassis. We visited 2 cathedrals in Marseille glad we were there early because it got VERY crowded. Then on to Cassis where we went up to the national park to view the village of Marseille. Very beautiful views, could've stayed there all day! Then down to Cassis where we had plenty of free time to eat lunch and take the boat tour of the calanques. Worth the extra time and money. I wish we'd had more time to shop and explore in Cassis, as it was the highlight of the day.
This an awesome tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of information to us. It was unfortunate that we were there at the Mystral, so it was very, very cold in Marseille but the guide spend more time in Cassis where it was warmer and such a wonderful place... I would take this one again.
