There was a right amount of walking and touring by coach. Though the cruise tour from Cassis was not included, you cannot miss it and it was so worth it that we didn't really mind having a quick lunch instead of an enjoyable long one. Our tour guide Melissa was very knowledgeable about all these towns, even the smallest fountains on the road. It was our first time in Southern France and we learnt so much because of this tour. If you only have a short period of time for touring around, this tour is your perfect choice.
The whole day was absolutely amazing! Sylvia was so informative and knowledgeable about each location. She took us to some really cool, off the beaten path spots to experience. Definitely take the opportunity to go on the calanque cruise in Cassis - two weeks in Europe and that 45 minute boat ride was the highlight of our entire trip!
AIX itself, and Cassis, were very nice. Our tour guide was pleasant enough, but spent much of her time texting and talking on the phone while leading our small group around AIX. She was better about sharing the history of the sights when giving us the Marseille part of the tour, as it was just my wife and me. It would have been nice for the tour to provide city maps for both AIX, Cassis and Marseille to aid in understanding our surroundings. All-in-all, an average value for a pricey tour.
Susei was a very friendly guide and super accommodating with my friend's wheelchair. She was VERY knowledgeable about the areas we were in and taught us a lot about the history. Her English was almost impeccable. The only part of the trip that was a little frustrating was that the last part of the trip of visiting historical sites in Marseille couldn't be done because they were closed. It wasn't a Monday. It was some weird reason. So, that part was a bust, plus it was amazingly hot walking around, so that just made it a little more frustrating. If she had known, I'm sure she would have taken somewhere different and finished our tour in a more satisfying way. I would highly recommend this tour because the pictures you are going to get will be excellent!
this was a fun trip. Aix en Provence is very nice, and there was a good street market on Saturday which was fun to see. The guide was nice and very knowledgeable. I can't give this a 5 star rating, only because it was raining heavily so our visit to Cassis was abbreviated. Our guide was very resourceful and substituted more time in Marseille indoors! to make up for the rain.
Our guide, Celian, was knowledgeable about the areas we toured. We enjoyed visiting the market in Aix en Provence, experienced a breathtaking view at France's highest sea cliff, then visited Cassis. We ended the day with a tour of Marseille. The trip was exactly as promised and I would highly recommend it.
