This was our first food tour ever and it was FANTASTIC! We were in Charleston on a cruise stop and loved learning all the history of it from our guide Franny as well as all the delicious food at the Low Country Bistro, candy store, Noisy Oyster, Smoke House BBQ, and shopping in a Tea and Spice shoppe.Highly recommend Bull Dog Tours to all!!!
No passion, no theme. Some of the food was gross the Cuban place was very greasy Ive had great cuban in other places here, the coffee at the donut joint had no flavor I have had wonderful coffee down here. The Turkish food was nice. Our guide was ok but again, compared to our other tours with Viator here, no passion! There were stories about the owners of the restaurants, but somehow it never wove together into something coherent. It all felt random. Why these places? Is there an overall theme?
This food tour was excellent, my wife and I both really enjoyed it.
The group was small, 7 people and an energetic guide Sol.
The area and history was interesting, the cross sampling of food delicious and large portions.
A really good outing.
Great tour on a sunny, not too hot day in December. My DH and I were two of three customers since it was off-season and felt we got a personalized tour. Our guide Gabe was knowledgeable about the area, the history, and the cuisine and was very entertaining. Highlights were mojito, empanadas, and Cuban egg roll at Bella Cuba ceviche and saltado at Peruvian restaurant Chalan on the Beach. We learned about some of the Art Deco architecture in the area, history of the 1926 hurricane, and strolled on the beach awhile. The pace was comfortable and we felt satisfied but not rushed. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely loved hearing the history of Miami/ South Beach. My husband and I booked this tour as part of our anniversary weekend and we enjoyed the walking, interesting stories, the variety of food coming from different cultures was absolutely delicious. I have a new and fill appreciation for Miami.
WE really enjoyed our tour with Alex, our guide, on a windy rainy day in Miami Beach. ALex not only gave us a complete walking tour of the region, along with the history and architectural hi-lights, he made sure to keep us out of the rain and comfortable. There were just the 4 of us on this particular day, so it was like having a private guide. We tasted south beach food at the first stop, Cuban food at the second place, Peruvian food at the third, and kosher ice cream at the final stop. Alex explained the cuisine we tasted from the ceviche to yucca fries to cuban pork. The food was abundant and we enjoyed tasting all of it. I highly recommend this as a great way to get to know South Beach.
