We did the Tulum and Swim with the Turtle tour with Beatriz as a guide. She was Terrible. I have been on many tours in the area and she was by far the worst. I will never use this company again due to this.
A guide should be interactive with the group to make it a fun day. I have been on many tours where the guide will talk about the area as you drive through it.
Beatriz did non of this.
We spent 40 mins in Tulum only. Felt very rushed through. She did give us some info, but we had no time to view the area. Told us of a couple buildings and then rushed to the cliff to take a picture or two,then out of the park. She used the back entrance so we didnt get to see the local market there either. Tulum is a very beautiful place and it would have been nice to spend some more time there and take the beauty in.
We were served lunch on the way to Akumal. A bun with 1 piece of ham and 1 slice of cheese on it, a tiny bag of chips, cookie and a bruised up apple. It would have been nicer to stop at a local place for a meal and the experience.
We went to swim with the turtles next. We did not get any fins. A Mask and snorkel only.
She would then swim ahead with her fins as she was able to use them,and then we had to rush to catch up. She kept telling us to keep up. She blamed George Bush about the fins. And when asked she just said some things in life just aren't fair. Pretty rude comments. All the other tours and people seemed to have them on.
We spent about 45 mins in the water. We did see some turtles and they are very majestic. They didnt seem to mind we were there. Not many other types of fish in the area, I would have thought we would have seen more types of fish.
On our way back Beatriz got out in Playa and left us with the driver who spoke little if any English. I have never had a guide just leave the tour before the end.
We made the most of the day with our friends, but the day could have been so much better.
All in All, Beatriz was a negative guide who made the day
