You can book with other groups, they all go to the same place to snorkel, but this boat is smaller, (we only had 22 on our trip) so you get better attention from the crew. And the CREW! All great personalities and fun, fun, fun.
We enjoyed our time on the Barefoot. You get about 2 - 2 1/2 hours of beach/swimming time at the first stop and then 30 minutes or so of snorkeling at the 2nd stop. Be prepared for very little real sailing it is NOT advertised as a sailing trip and the snorkel area is at the far end of the beach so it took just a few minutes to get to the location. The lunch is deli style with cold cuts, Ceasar salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, bread, and fruit. The drinks were quite decent.
The trip is as advertised and definitely met our expectations. The crew provided snorkels, masks and fins and offered training to those who had not snorkeled before. They pulled up to the beach so you had time in shallow water to get used to the equipment.
I'm so glad I decided to do this trip! Everything about it was great. The crew was friendly and helpful, the boat ride was beautiful, and the snorkeling was incredible! Both areas we went to had amazing views and water. I'd never been snorkeling before, but it was one of the best experiences I've ever had! The fish and reefs were amazing! We also had lunch, fruit, and drinks both with and without alcohol. I'll be honest--I was a little afraid beforehand that this would be more of a party boat trip and less of an adventure/nature trip I was looking for adventure/nature, but I had a fantastic time. While certainly fun and laid-back, I definitely got to see plenty of the beautiful outdoors. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone going to Puerto Rico!
As with all of our excursions in Puerto Rico, the crew was great. We had plenty of tropical cocktails. Lunch was sandwiches with wonderful fresh bread the smell was killing me until I finally got to eat some!. Later, they served freshly cut fruit. I would recommend getting in line early for the fruit. We were the last two and the woman right before me took the last of it. The water was beautiful and crystal clear where we snorkeled and below us was a beautiful coral reef with various fish. I suggest getting a waterproof phone case or a disposable waterproof camera because you'll want to take pictures while snorkeling. If not, at least take a Ziploc bag to put your camera and/or phone in while you wade over to the island where they'll anchor and you can get out and play.
